Processing Times May Increase as Foreign Service Officers Strike
Processing times for applications submitted to Canadian Visa Offices abroad may rise as Canada's foreign service officers go on strike.

Last week, foreign service officers serving both inside and outside agreed to go on strike in protest of what they believe is unequal pay across government departments. This strike is the first of its kind since the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) was created 46 years ago. PAFSO claims that officers are paid less than government colleagues from different departments, despite performing similar or identical work.

Many of the PAFSO officers participating in the strike work for Canadian Visa Offices around the world. Because of this, offices experiencing strikes may experience delays in application processing. Current processing times posted on Canadavisa and the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website do not take into account additional delays that may be incurred due to the strike.

CIC has assured applicants that contingency plans are already in place to assure that Visa Offices remain open and that at least a minimum level of service will be provided, with a priority placed on urgent humanitarian cases.

One of my friend who got MR and RPRF letter on 7 MAY 2013 just got and update line "medical received" today. Her's file is under AUVO. Therefore, I think that, not all of VOs all over the world are taking part in the strike in Canada.

Another reason is that, our files are no longer locate in Canada where the process got heavily effected.

Just keep a positive thinking guys.

Canadian High Commission in Singapore still has not participated in the strike.

Participating Canadian High Commission & Canadian Foreign offices:
London, Paris, Dublin, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Beijing, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Ramallah.

Marzuk bhai, i sent an email and they replied today that they have received my all documents and will contact shortly. it looks they are working. I got my MR and sent their asked docs like PC, RPRF etc. MALE BARI PORBEI PORBE

i am confused with their answer. did they mean they do not acknowledge any receipt or they are not acknowledging as they did not receive your docs?

i just replied their last email and got the acknowledgement reply. check with your courier. when did you send your docs? u can send ur mobile number in a personal msg so that i can call u to talk in detail.

Dear All,

yesterday, I got an email from Ecas- tracker said that my Ecas just added another line. That is "Medical results have been received". it is nearly 1 months from the day I went for Medical check up. I think that AUVO is back to work already.

I still need to wait to collect and send them the certificated of police clearance from Singapore police force since they ask me to do so.

No news about PPR. But they have responded to my email. AUVO mentioned that they have received my documents and would get back shortly.

It did nt look that it is a common reply sent to all. It is a two line responses which seems they are working.
