Hi there I am sponsoring my wife, today when I was checking ecas it showed decision made:

1. We received ***'s application for permanent residence on March 21, 2014.
2. We started processing ***'s application on December 29, 2014.
3. Medical results have been received.
4. A decision has been made on ***'s application. The office will contact *** concerning this decision.

Even before this I am notified that I am eligible to sponsor. PLEASE someone tell me what does this mean? And if this is positive how long usually takes to contact you regarding the decision?

Hey Guys,
So here's an update to my file:

App filed: August 27th 2014
SA: October 6th, 2014
File transfer: Oct 13th, 2014

Got my hubby's PPR via email on Jan 16, 2015!! :) :) :)

email was as follows:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada as a member of the family class. Your application is now ready for finalization.
Please comply with the attached instruction for passport submission immediately as your visa is valid till ... and disregard the 60-day time period in the attached letter.
Your medical report is valid till ...and so is your visa. Please advise the Canada Visa Application Centre that your case is urgent due to the short visa validity period. Please notify us via email the date you despatch your passports to VAC so we can keep track. We will expedite on account of this.
We hope this information will be of assistance.

i have never seen CIC being soo direct before as they always have been soo vague!!

So whoever says that the wait is long till you hear and all the negative comments on this forum, i would tell the others who are still waiting, please don't let those negative thoughts bother you and hope for the best and if you eagerly want and wait for something and you know you are true to yourself and the relationship, it will come to you!

Even though the generic timeline for Singapore says 31 months, but that's only when interview comes into play.. my hubby and I never believed in that..

Submitted his passport on Jan 18th at the VAC, and ECAS was changed same to in process and decision made! ;D ;D ;D

:D :D :D :D

CONGRATS!!!

I applied before you and also agree what you said. I was constantly worried, but I guess they are moving quickly.

App filed: July 8th, 2014
File transfer: Sept 17th, 2014 (This was delayed because I forgot to sign a document- yeah I couldn't believe it)
File received by Singapore : Sept 22nd, 2014
Request for Passport: Feb 17th, 2015

Total 8months so far!

Can you explain to me what it says on the letter, my husband has 11 months till his passport gets expired, do you think it is ideal for him to renew his passport? They didn't ask him to redo his medical, so I am assuming it has not expired yet. Please advice me on how should I proceed. Thanks!

" IMPORTANT NOTES about Visa and Passport validity

"You should ensure that everyone in your family has a passport valid for a
minimum of 12 months from the date of the most recent full medical
examination. Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months
from the date of your most recent Immigration Medical Examination (IME)
assessment. If your family has medical examinations on different dates, the
validity of your visas will be 12 months from the date of the first assessment.
If any one of your passports will expire before 12 months from the date of the
medical examination, your visas will expire on the date of the first passport to
expire. If your passports will expire soon, it is in your interest to obtain new
or updated passports to ensure your visas are issued with maximum validity."

@ Lima_011

Medical usually expires 1 year after it is done.

If Passport has already been requested, then most likely he should get it back within next 60 days at most after Singapore receives it - provided they didn't ask for anything else. In that case, Singapore Visa office most likely stamp the Visa with the expiration date corresponding with the expiry of the Medical report date. That means he should be ready to leave BD within the next 4 months. Of course, deviation could happen.

Ask him to send the passport asap with VAC in Gulshan.

@ goodman36

My husband's medical report is expiring on June 8th, 2015. And Passport on Dec 15, 2015.

I am kinda scared what if by the time he lands in Canada his visa gets expired. Do you think that would be an issue?

And Also feel hesitant to give his passport for renewal because of what is happening in BD right now.

Please advice!

If he sends his passport now to Singapore, most likely he will get it back before April 15 unless there is any other issue or Singapore office asked any other document except Passport. That gives him more than 90 days to come and land in Canada. I would suggest sending the Passport now. You said that he got a letter from Singapore for Passport request - so why is he delaying sending it?

Use VAC office in Gulshan so that he can keep track....

@ goodman36

We are worried because it said he has to have 12 months. Thats where I am confused: from now to Dec 2015, he only has 11months till his passport gets expired.

They ONLY asked for passport.

Does anyone know how much gold you can carry from BD with the PR Visa?
And how much cash is allowed as well?

Thanks

When did you do your medical?
They didnt ask for police clearance again?

nice to see that everyone is getting their responses pretty fast. It seems SVO has picked up their pace.
