Hi. is it true that new immigrants have a larger baggage allowance?my wife told me that someone informed her she could bring 2 bags of 23kg each. is this true? Hope to hear those who have landed already. Thank you and more power..

2 bags of 23 KG is standard for most of airlines flying out of Asia to US /Canada

Better check with your airline

i recently consulted a few travel agents in London.

Some said only 20kg for each passenger and a few said 2 bags of 20kg each for each individual. They were also not sure.

I assume they'll tell exactly when i pay them money

Take care

Hi,

Baggage allowance is as stipulated by the chosen airline for any immigrant. The standard varies in line with the passenger preferred class of flying, first class, business or economy. These classes usually comes with different variants of baggage allowance.

However, you will need to contact your airline to confirm whether concessions are granted to immigrants.

Contact DHL they can take upto 200 Kg for at a special negotiated price it will cheaper than paying for excess baggage

That's right 23kgs x2. And not to forget 7kgs hand baggage + a laptop.
