Unfortunately, PGWP holders who need a new work permit now need to follow the same rules for an LMO...

ya, as per my understanding, this is related to students who want job in Canada after the expiry of their post graduate work permit.

does this mean bridging work permit needs LMO now?

No news at all. Already been this way a few years.

During your PGWP try to work well and near the expiry date explain to your current boss that you need an LMO to continue working after your PGWP expired, than apply to an LMO and in the same time apply to a Bridge.

No news.

if boss doesn't agree, you may also need to say, he boss i'll work more for less $$$ on LMO. boss will take care of paperwork to keep you on job.

The news is that earlier exemption of job advertisement has been abolished now..... That means the employer has to run job advertisements for atleast 4-5 weeks and try to employ locals or PR holders before employing international students...

You obviously didn't read the announcement and/or don't understand the rules. For several years, there has been NO advertising requirement for employers who are applying for an LMO for someone who is currently working for them and on a PGWP. In other words, employers have been able to apply for the LMO without first advertising the job to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. This was a very big advantage for PGWP holders and their employers and has in the past made it much easier to obtain an LMO for people who qualify. This exemption has now been removed. This is the big change that was announced this week.

hello guys,

i am not much aware about LMO, so does this apply to those with new PGWP holders (just after graduating ) or those whose PGWP is expired and are aiming to continue..

Sorry, my mistake. You are right.
Thanks to appointing where I was wrong.
