During June last year, when i was preparing the application, exchange was around 46 INR for 1 CAD, which means i needed around 6.4 lakh rupees (appx 13,800 CAD for 2 person) to cover the POF requirement but today to cover the the same amount... i need 7.4 lakh rupees!! Which means i need to arrange 1 lakh extra from the initial plan. This serious devaluation of Rs is taking shape of a big problem for people like me who are planning to land in the coming days.
Also, these exchange rates are not the actual buying rate which would be around Rs 1.5-2 per CAD over this. That means spending appx 25k INR to buy 13,800 CAD.
Can anyone tell me of all different forms in which we can take the settlement funds to Canada which is the most economical to buy? I mean, for which form will i need to spend minimum in conversion from INR to CAD?

Not looking for any illegal/grey way to convert to CAD but even in all acceptable means, which has the lowest commission?
Another question to all, if i open a Hello Canada a/c with ICICI, how will i show the POF at landing? Balance confirmation of the Hello Canada a/c or something else?

And what is Hello Canada. Do shed some light please.
Thanks in advance.

I just want to say you don't have to convert from one currency to another directly, however, I'm not from India.
Even if you bring New Zealand Dollars as POF is fine. Convert it later to CAD after your landing if necessary.
