If one is in the middle of FSW application (waiting for medical and passport request), and due to financial difficulties nowadays....especially here in USA, your good credit has gone to bad credit, how it will affect ones application?

Also, is it a criminal offense here in US if you are not able to pay your credit card debts?

Regards....

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
It's not a criminal offense to owe money and not be able to pay your debt unless they can nail you on some kind of fraud. Say you already know you can't pay so you decide to go out with a bang and max out all your cards when you know you have no ability to pay, that might be considered fraud. On the other hand, you have a couple of cards, you are using them, you lose your job, you are living on the cards hoping to find a job, your debts are slowly growing and eventually, you can't pay anymore. That's not fraud.

However, if you are applying as a skilled worker, you need to have a certain amount of money to support yourself. CIC might possibly want to know that you did not borrow this money on your credit cards. I remember one member on this forum saying CIC wanted to see his credit report. He did not know why and neither did anybody else but that's the only case I know of that they cared about somebody's credit.

thanks for the quick reply Leon. I still have questions though, Do you think CIC-MANILA is done doing the background check and security check on my application? I submitted a full application last March 23, 09, update of documents were requested last June 16, 09 such as "personal net worth" and "visas/work permit here in US." At what stage do they do BACKGROUND AND SECURITY CHECK?
