Bad academic record-Study permit extension!

My study permit expires on the 30th of July and for the study permit extension the transcripts that I will use are:

Fall Semester:
Two F's and a withdraw

Winter Semester:
Two withdraws

I have applied for the May intake at a different college.Should I even bother about getting the extension or just pack my bags and go back forever?

I have never worked illegally but I have a bad academic record.

what is meant by two F's and two withdraws, well you should apply for extension and bad academic record is not the reason to refusal of visa......

It's not a requirement but you never know what sort of judgemental mood the VO may be in.

If you failed just out of lack of study, then too bad.

If there were other reasons affecting your studies, i would write a letter accompanying your application and explain the reasons and what you are doing/ have done to address them.

I'm sorry to hear that. There is no straight rule for rejecting your case. However, you would need to apply for a letter from institutional registrar OR transcript. This means you are lucky and may ask for the letter and no need to give your transcript. Study harder..

This is my academic history and I kept taking science courses when I wasn't good at those at all and then switched to business courses and didn't work hard enough and switched back to Science.

The ones in red are the transcripts that I will have to use for the study permit extension and enrolment at a different college(Kwantlen)

I got in University of Windsor(Engineering) as a high school student but then out of bad planning(the financial statements) had to join a college and never worked hard enough out of rebellion and the commute time(DT from Surrey)

With such a record I won't be able to join any good university in BC and my parents have strictly told me that I can't move to any other province and obviously with such grades even the shittiest University won't accept my application.

My aim was to go to a good University and then get a job here but since I've wasted so much time and money already my parents have told me to do it the 'desi' way and get a diploma from here and then the work permit :

Accounting diploma from Kwantlen Poly. University and maybe switch to the degree if my grades show any improvement.


It is a University too but its more like a college and I have applied here on the basis of my IELTS score and high school grades and I won't have any problem with the acceptance here.

And I don't have MSP coverage or anything but after moving back from Windsor I went through a lot of dental problems and other health problems but again all of that isn't on record except the dental receipts so the supporting letter will not really have anything on it.

I don't know that after wasting so much money should I risk getting an extension again?Would that be a good idea?cause I will be sort of starting from scratch again as most of my credits won't even transfer to this new Uni.Except the B's and C's and maybe the credits from Windsor.

I did not surrender my part time work permit after getting poor grades but never really got a Job.I feel like everything is pretty much against me but all I want is a second opinion.

And I don't really want to go back to India without any degree/diploma but again the Immigration people just want to see if you're a genuine student or not and my transcripts don't make me look like one even though I did attend all the classes before joining Douglas.

Not sure what you have done here to be honest. What are you even trying to major in? I see every possible course from pre calc to mechanics to english to econ. I would suggest you find something that your passionate about and stick with it.

I mean no offense but what exactly is the problem that's causing you to do so bad? I dont even know you but just by looking at this, I get the impression that your only aim is to stay in Canada indefinitely. That's not a good impression to give when you want an extension.

Thats pretty bad... wonder why you took Calculus etc when in an Arts degree?

Are you still trying to get back into engineering? Does not seem like engineering is your forte my friend.

Maybe look into doing some trade level programs with more emphasis on practical work than books?

Douglas college transcript has nothing to show in it because you haven't pass any subject in last 2 semester. Firstly see your credits . Because you should be a full-time student, But you're taking 3 subject each semester.
Brother why you changed so many colleges ? This time you will face a great problem in Extension.
Add all documents which prove that you were studying. If in last year you visited your home country. Then try to make a situation that my parents were sick , so i was not able to concentrate.Try to get a letter from program Coordinator about attendance.

Need to careful while applying bro.
And i think you faced suspension in school, That's why you changed the college.

I'm not a guy and I didn't go home since 2011 and yes I was trying to get back into engineering that is why I took Calculus etc and I really don't have any supporting documents-stuff like parents were sick etc.

So there's no point in wasting money on another semester when my extension chances are less than 2%?

About suspension-I was suspended once from Columbia College and after that I increased my GPA and went to Windsor and I was trying to transfer internally into the faculty of engineering but couldn't handle math and after that I changed colleges due to because of personal reasons.Windsor was too tiny and after that switched from Alexander to Douglas due to late prerequisite approval.

These were all stupid decisions and IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I COULD DO ABOUT THIS SITUATION cause I was young and stupid and wasn't serious about stuff and my only aim was getting into engineering but learned it the hard way :|

And the College coordinators don't really have attendance records plus I don't have any attendance for the Winter semester and 3 courses are full-time(9 credits) here but like you said I haven't really earned any credits in this semester and the previous semester.

I also applied for extension few days back and i was also in bad academic standing. After consulting to Consultant and Forum member i applied for extension. So at least give a try. Try to apply for extension without transcripts. Because i have found so many cases in which Extension was granted without Transcripts.I have personally met such people by travelling so far. So don't worry. But definitely attach a note explaining your condition. And LOA is a must.
Give it a try. Anything can happen.

Just write the reason for your bad academic standing. Such as, i was homesick, was not compatible with environment , Was facing financial problems. ....

How long of an extension will you even need?

2 or 3 years? It's unlikely you'll get that much.
