Depends on the college. Some colleges have clearly shown the backlogs they will accept, some have not and you will have to send an email to admissions. Here are admission requirements for Indians according to Humber for a graduate certificate program ( PG course )

Admission to a Graduate Certificate program

To be eligible for admission you must possess a bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma. Please see individual programs for details on required credentials at humber.ca/program.

Equivalencies

  • Bachelor’s degree placed in the First Division/Class, university transcripts (Consolidated Transcripts are Not Acceptable), and backlog summary

  • Maximum Backlogs Attempts Accepted
    • Bachelor’s degree- 3 year: 2 backlog attempts
    • Bachelor’s degree: 4 year: 4 backlog attempts
    • Master’s degree: 2 backlog attempts
    • 10+3 Curriculum: 4 backlog attempts

Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful information but still my query is not clear completely.
Here I am explaining in detail:

Suppose, I got fail in three subjects through out my studies
Lets consider,
1. Subject A
2. Subject B
3. Subject C
Now, I have reattempted
subject A - 3 times
subject B - 2 times
subject C - 2 times.

So now my query is colleges in canada are consider backlogs per subject which is 3 backlogs ( Subject A, Subject B, subject C ) or total reattempts of all subjects which is 3 times+2times+2times = 7 backlogs ?
Please help me out, I am very confused.

Did you write the exams seperately or did you retake Subject A, B and C together.

So they consider it as 7 backlogs
Yes, they are counting the number of times you sat for the exam and not the subject.

Also see the terminology, they are not asking about the actual number of backlogs but the number of times you have attempted to clear the backlog.

Since you have not cleared in the first shot then you have tried a total of 7 times to clear backlog. If you took only one time per subject it would be only 3 backlog attempts.

Edit: Even if you did in the same semester the number of attempts remain the same.
