Hi all,

I am Vivian Martin, currently employed at Amazon.com - Chennai, India. I am writing to you in order to en-quire whether I am eligible for the Master's Program or SPP Category in Canada.

I am applying for Fall - 2015.

My profile is listed below:

Class 10th - 85%
Class 12th - 84%
IELTS - 7.0

B.E - (Electronics and Communication Engineering) - 6.43 CGPA

My only drawback is "BACKLOGS", I'm starting to really hate that word as I can't understand what does it exactly mean.

In my total Engineering I've had 10 arrears (totally). So does that mean I have 10 backlogs? And I cleared everything during the academic year 2009-2013. And I also got my degree.

But to clear these 10 papers, some i cleared in the very next attempt and some i cleared after 2-3 attempts.. So if you count my total attempts, it will come up to 24 for these 10 "Arrears".

1. So does that mean I have 24 backlogs? or 10 Backlogs?

2. Will I get my Visa or will it be rejected?

3. Is there any hope for me?

Please help me out.. I really need help urgently..

Sad

I had my final year project patented at "IEEE" and it was funded by "Anna University Chennai, India.

I'm working with Amazon.com since November 2013 - present.

I am very interested to pursue my higher studies in Canada, as I'm interested in research.

I have sufficient funding available for my course and can provide valid proof.

If no hope for "Graduate Program Certificate", should I try for a diploma with my 10th and 12th certificate?

Will I get rejected for that too? Im kind of confused .. really need help! Sad

Vivian Martin

Hi so you have a Degree in Electrical Engineering if yes than you can apply for Post Grad Masters in Canada.

If no than you can certainly take a Canadian College Diploma.

Either way you can apply for Canada. as for SPP vs regular Study Permit depends if you have $10K sitting in a Bank Account + the 1 Year Tuition (to show to Immigration Canada as proof of enough Funds) usually at least $12 to 15K on top and your applying for a Post Grad at a Canadian University than sure go for an SPP but there is a Quota and you have to check if that's open, it takes at least 3 months+ for SPP.

If not College and only Tuition with less in living expenses via a regular Study Permit (try to go for the Study + Work permit).

If you have a full qualification you may be able to explore Trades PNP Programs in BC. Alberta or Ontario. You have to research online.

Wrong advice.

1. Visa refusal is sure for OP if he take college diploma after having a Degree in EE.
2. There is no quota system for SPP. It doesn't take 3 months for SP processing except for restoration cases or inadmissibility issues in your application.

Hi J5M,

My post entirely talks about "BACKLOG", it would be helpful if you could reply to that. :(

And I asked you mainly about "Post-Graduate Program Certificate" like a PGDiploma.

Kindly advise on the "BACKLOG" part.

Thanks,
Vivian
