I am new to this forum, recommended by my friend. My question is about Background/security check before issuing my PPR.

Timelines below:

Country of Origin: India
Country of Residence: Canada
Noc: 2171
App Sent: Feb 23, 2014
AOR: Mar 24, 2014
Medical: Oct 17
Med Received at ECAS: OCt 25, 2014
RPRF: OCt 28, 2014

My application is showing "In Process" since 18 Nov, 2014 with the second line as "We started procesing your application on November 13,2014.

But I havent received my PPR yet. And the Ecas is still in process.

I have a question on background/security check after medical. I have no last name in the passport.
My name appear as First Name: XXXX YYYY

So while filling the forms, I followed CIC instructions and put it as Last Name : Not Applicable

I submitted RCMP report which read it as
First Name: XXXX YYYY
Last Name: NO SURNAME

I have attached the copy of my university degree which has my name as XXXX YYYY followed by my initial. In India, the passport officer didn't allow me to expand my initial(which is usually the case in south) and issued the passport with no last name.

Now my bank account in canada has split my name as First Name: XXXX and Last Name: YYYY.

I got the GCMS notes (generated on Oct 17) where VO has entered abt t4,noa's as supporting docs plus he also noted that I have attached my degree certificate & company offerletter in canada. He also mentioned:
Criminality PA: RCMP Screening : No reportable trace.
Police Certificate - India:No adverse info found.
Recommendation: Appear to meet requirements.

I am not getting PPR because of the above naming confusion? I have lived only in India and Canada, visted only Schengen Countries & US as tourist couple of times. I would appreciate if anyone experienced similar situation can share their experience?

I am getting worried as I saw couple of people here whose application was started processing after Nov 15 has got PPR's.

I don't think so ,
I have also same confusion in my name
According to Guideline
I used my first name as Last name place
although I have not received PPR. BUT in my gcms note all traces are showing good for security test

So i dont think this may be reaosn
Please Order your GCMS note

I ordered my 2nd GCMS last week lets see

Thanks CEC_1304. Yes I did follow the guideline.

What does your ECAS say? when you got RPRF request? Mine says (as of oct 17, when i requested)

Eligibility: In progress
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress
Medical: In Progress

I have ordered my notes a week back when it went to In Process, so I have to wait 3 more weeks to get. I guess I ordered it too early this time, should have done it today.

When did you apply for CEC and when you gt ur notes?

how do i give you +1.

Hi,
you will see the Ratings (on the left side) after 10 or so posts. Then you can give +1 to someone.

Hi,

I am on the same boat

We received your application for permanent residence on March 21, 2014.

We started processing your application on November 6, 2014. (RPRF 28th Oct)

Medical results have been received.

No, the name issue is not likely to be causing any delay, CIC VOs are accustomed to that. There's a "delay" from your perspective, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary in your timeline.

BTW - eCAS is a limited tool, it's not that useful to know what the status of your application is. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but you can always request your GCMS notes...

Thank you jes_ON. I got my PPR just an hour ago. 8.45 PM PST Time ;D
