Hi

From my experience on caipsNotes issuing Medical Docs on 03/11/2010 does not means that you will receive medical request. the VO usually issue the medical forms and put in your file and when everything is ok (passed the BG) they will forward the copy of the medical forms that issued on "the mention date". All-in-all it is just preparation step, however it means that you passed the 67 points and all your documents are in order.

Just be patient and hopefully everything will go smoothly. Just consider my case and then you will realise that you still in good position.
1. My first application submitted to CIO before the 30-12-2008 (fast track system).
2. MY full document requested and sent on 13-05-2009 ( with 74 points according to the caipsnotes)
3. Medical received on 1-11-2010 with new pcc and new schedule1 form.
4. and still waiting for the PPR.
So 2 years under fast track.

I wish you all the very best luck

Dear Zaid
i did my medicals in Jan 2011. They also demanded fresh PCC and Forms. i submitted my documenst in July 2009. I am a quebec selected applicant. What do you say about my background checks?
May Allah Help us all

DEAR LH-MONTREAL

i am not familiar with the Quebec system, but if they asked you to submit a fresh PCC, it means you are in good position and hopefully you will receive the medical papers very soon.

Good Luck

Dear abhi812

No, I have not receive medical request at this moment.

In fact, that is what I am waiting for.

Please allow me to reconfirm it again, "IMM1017S Requested: 03-11-2010, BF'D 30-3-2011" means I will receive the medical request on 30th of March. Am I correct?

Please could you tell me how many BF'D date did you have on your Caip notes? My BF'D was 22.1.2011 and i have not heard anything from them. Still waiting.

Planning to order caips in April.

thanks waiting.

U r supposed to get the Meds by 4-6 months from the 2nd AOR. If there's an Addnl Docs request in between, add another 2-3 months to that.

Background & Security Checks

Note: Our Background Check comprises of 2 parts:
1. The Standard Documentation Checks,
2. The Security & Criminality Checks.

Standard Documentation Checks:
Our background check is done at the CHC stage. It commences the moment our file gets the 1st BFD by the VO. An indicator of which is the e-CAS that shows "In Progress". All docs been checked & our NOC being tallied against the MI, if the VO finds our case 'eligible' for Canadian PR, the file becomes 'Accepted'; and then it goes for standard background checks, viz. Exp, Quals, Adaptability, Qualitative Considerations etc.

The process involves many things. If our case file is well presented and the enclosures vouch the quality-quantity, adequate POF docs etc., there might not be a requirement of 'actually' calling the employers, references etc. The VOs have a way with that, they are experienced enough to ascertain the logical disposition of our case. But, if there are any concerns of his/her, s/he is likely to ask for additional docs, do further scrutiny vide any means [calling, visiting etc.] & might ask for an Interview.

-Culmination: When 'fully' satisfied, we get the 'Medical Request'.
-Timeframe: Can be anything around 3-8* months, for the 'fast track' system (Avg. 4-5 months).
-eCAS: Continues to Show 'In Process'.
*The older system has a queue, thus can be longer.

Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.

*Yes, that's how a certain Mr. Sharukh Khan was detained for 4.5 hrs in an US port. He was a VIP, thus 4.5 hrs. For u & me -things could be different.
...
The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".
...

hi qorax

this information about when meds requests may be expected - is this specific to vo new delhi or not? the reason why i ask is that processing times for my vo (vienna) and vo nd are the same (8 months as per cic website) but whereas vo vienna does not issue meds requests and passport requests at the same time, as far as i know, vo new delhi does...

it's been almost exactly 4 months since we've gone in process, we've had a request for additional documents in the meantime (soon after our 2nd aor and right after we went in process) and have sent these documents late in december... wondering what our bfd was? we were given 2 months to send the additional documents and sent them right about when the time was almost up. we're hoping they would have reviewed our file again sometime in january (that's what we're hoping the bfd was in our case)... so wondering when we might hope to get meds requests... vo vienna instructs (in the 2nd aor) to contact them 4 months after the 2nd aor if you haven' heard anything from them. these four months will be up in a few days... should we contact them?

we also need to send information about our children's new passports? would you advise that we do this by regular email and mail or send a case-specific enquiry and mail photocopies of the passport pages?

i hope you will be able to resond. you've helped so many on this forum, kudos to you :)

It's the usual timeframe with most VOs... some r a bit slow though [eg. Buffalo, NY, Singapore, Accra etc.] - & thus, adding another 2-3 months could be wise.

Yes, u should send them a mail in about 5 months [from the 2nd AOR].

DEAR LH-MONTREAL

Again I am not sure how is the procedure and time-frame of Quebec procedure, but for the skilled worker usually 4 to 5 months after doing the medical (along with updates PCC) they send the passports' request.

Keep faith and everything will go smoothly inshallah.

Cheers,
zaid

Dear Qorax,

Could you please help me ;

I got an e-mail 4 months ago that my file is under background /security checks. Also, I got my CAIPS NOTES today, and

found that my next BF`D is on 17-5-2011. As we know sometimes VO does not write the date of the result of background

checks untill the visa issued. I want to point out that am a (March/2007 applicant - CHC London and waiting for medical). My

question is: if they had written the period of time for ending this checks 6 months long for old applicants ,then they would

have finished this checks before that period! (ex:17-5-2011) DO they usually move to the next step ? or Do they put the file

on hold untill the system alarming for next BF`D date?

1. To my knowledge - Mar-2007 London cases have been pulled-out of the queue - completed their meds & have already 'landed' [I have one friend, who's May-2007, landed 7 months back].

2. As the b/ground checks return completed - we get our Meds... yes, on a BF'D... not before... 'coz "IMM1017S requested" log is ONLY done by the VO - not by his staff [who'd be logging the b/g reports though].
