Now this is really interesting and worrying at the same time! as personally, i have a very bad experience with the Name Check thing, as i remember, i applied few years ago to a tourist visa to the united states, and although i was initially approved, my visa was delayed 2 years for the FBI Name check, sine my first, second and last names are a very common name.

So now i am wondering, do you expect to go under the same delay if i am applying under FSW-2 with an AEO? or do you think that the united states and American follow two different name checking procedure?


P.S i got my US visa after waiting the 2 years

That link also suggests how to obtain your CAIPS Notes thru the various websites. Log on to either of them, pay the fees & in 4-6 weeks u'll have it in your inbox.

Are Criminality check and Security checks same and done at the same time by criminal officer?
I have received my CAIPS Notes and as per notes my criminality check is over before Med/RPRF/pp Request.
if this all are done then what remains than FINDEC?
My VO is NewDelhi. Med done on 4th sep,PP/RPRF Submitted on 06 sep 2010.got RPRF Receipt on 13th Sep Issued on 9th sep. when can i expect my visa? I & my family doesn't have any foreign travel history.
Pl.throw some light on this.

I can share my little experience here. I ordered CAIPS notes recently. any one can pay for the CAIPS notes . if you have someone who uses Master OR Visa card, they can pay on behalf of you where ever h/she lives. for me.my brother did it. first, he opened a PayPal account and then he used some of my application information ie: file no. name. visa office etc to pay the fees for my request . there are many business concerns which offer this service and charges different fees .

No. Both r independent processes of CIC. SECCRIM is part of our case processing "decision steps". It's performed during b/ground checks. While Security Clearance* is a "final review process" & is obtained after u pass the Meds.

*Which usually takes 3-4 months from the meds.

So what is it that they do once you submit your medicals. I know that according to most people, this is the time when they do the criminal background. How do they perform this criminal background? Especially since we already submitted police certificates from all the countries we have lived in. In our case USA, UK and SPAIN.
My medicals have been received by them on 30JULY2010, I would like to know how they contact these countries or what is it that they do.

I have noticed that people from South Asian countries take longer between medical submission and passport request. Is there any reason/link for this?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and its a pleasure to read some happy cases, and to be with people in the same situation as me, you give me hope ! My file is with CSIS too :-[ has been for 4 month going on 5 month , I wrote to CSIS asking if they still have my file but its still early yet for a response . Had some dissapointing news from my IO today while I was asking him some ?????? he told me CSIS can take up to 2 years to do security checks ..im like OMG or they can take 4-6 month . I'm so frustrated

The VO &/or his staff might have a relook@our case files anytime - and can also have a recount, besides many other checks. Yes, if one do not fetch enough points (especially median ones) - there's a high probability of rejection, at any stage.
