Hi Qurax,

I joined this site to get an idea on the processing times. I am sure u can enlighten us more.
My case - I have a 1 yr post grad study here then 1 yr of work exp on a post grad work permit + 2 years on work exp on a LMO from service canada with the same company...i don't know what makes the applications being processed faster than the other.

Below are my details:

can you suggest how long it would take as per your experience to receive a mail for medicals. I know it has to do with the processing at VO and the clarify in the documents submitted. I just wanted to know your thoughts since you have been dealing with issues/ concerns from a lot of applicants.

Nothing could speed-up a case processing before the Visa Office specific timeframe. However, the quality & quantity of your docs could save u from a delay. Buffalo has always been slow. However, generally, by a yr our cases should be completed.

hi Qurax, please please advise me what to do

Actully i got medical request and my problm is that i changed my job on wrk permit 2 months ago even got new visa stamped on my PP but when i asked my employer for reference letter he said no as per company policy is for 3months probation period,so i waited for 2 months time to do all updates together for job , address, employer,lomo,wrk peremit along with my reference letter .

But last week i got medical request and landing fees request from visa post and THEY DONT ASK FOR "NO OTHER DOCUMENT REQUIRED "
ON MEDICAL FORM ,PLZ SUGEEST ME, i did my medicals last week ,but still i have not updated my file and i m completing 3 months next month(_soo i can get reference letter ) , as i changed employer and city , plz advise me what to do, now i have 2 visas on my Passport 1 old job on basis of which i applied my immegration as FSW and 1 new visa for current job which is not updated yet , i m soo confused plz advise me what to do ,
Is it too late to inform visapost .and if i inform does it take more time for process or have any bad effect on my case ????????

The thumb rule is not to send the CHC anything other than asked for. So, if they haven't enquired about it, mum's the word. As your med docs were already sent, they r Ok with your b/ground checks... so, Relax. Reply to them on your 2nd WP, if they specifically ask u hereon.

Dear Quorax,
In your opinion when and if we send queries about our status - does it set back the processing of the application.
It seems that my background checks may be extensive; I have visited four countries in the past ten years and have been a student in US for about seven years now (Masters and PhD).
Judging from your posts and my own understanding of background checks, I fear I am in for a long wait.
I did not want to make it longer with my queries.
Any thoughts?

Let me assure u that emailing to CHC makes no difference to our timeframe. The only difference it might make is we irritate the VO with frequent queries on the same issue, in short spans.

Given a query once a month, when things get unduely delayed, is perfectly fine. Say, 6-7 months & no meds, or 3-4 months since meds & no PPR, likewise.

I have one question. when 6 to 12 month time starts some said from the day when your application has received at cio some said from day when your full application received at visa office, what is true? if from the day application receive at cio then why second AOR said like that Processing time ( application for permanent residence in canada in your category reguire, on average, 12 months to process at this office. if you have not received any instructions from us within 8 months of the date of this letter, please contect this office.

I have applied in FSW Category and mentioned appended profile(Job Duties) in descending order :

Company Experience Reference Letter(Yes/No)
Company X 3 years Yes with other supporting docs.

Company Y 2 years No but other supporting docs. available.

Company Z 1 year Yes with other supporting docs.

Dear friend, I am providing all docs. from my current company X and last company Z but unable to provide reference letter from company Y, but having other docs, like salary slip,appointment letter,relieving letter,promotion letter etc.

What is the chance of case approval?? Can a VO office reject my case only for this reason ??

I am fulfilling all the requirements except this, Is there any way to sort it out this problem or my rest supporting docs. will sufficient ?

it depends on VO. if the VO is looks like busy covering lots of country and applicants, automatically they need more time to finalize the process. in my case, i am in london, i felt london vo is little bit busy then New Delhi. So i applied for ND vo. in my aor, it says..... it can take average 8months, if you are not recived any instruction from this office 3months after you submitted your full application, you are requested to contact this office directly. does it make any sense?

In the older process it was from the day our apps got received at the CHC. The same remains now. The only difference between past & present is the extra addition of a CIO, which only assists in our Lock-In date.

As the actual processing is always at CHC level, commencement of the time frame from Only Here makes sense, doesn't it, brother?

Brother, let me assure u that u r good with that. If u had sent an explanation letter for employer-Y it would be best, but even if u haven't -it's Ok. The situation is understood... By all, including the VO.

no response from there side is it a good sighn or bad??
if i try to find my status through some friend who is working in CHC will ot make any bad impact on my file??

please reply im so tense what can be done to find exact status of my file

1. No reply is just that... nothing is known... no signs.
2. The 'old system' had a queue [a long one -though CHC specific], u might yet be in it.
3. R u sure your friend can obtain some info?
4. No, it wouldn't make any difference... no impact on your case processing.

Due to overbooked situation, sometimes, the 2nd AOR might take time. Say 1-2 months. I'd suggest, wait some more & u'll be thru with it. No action from your end is envisaged at this early stage.

Hi Qorax,

Just to update you that today I got my 2nd AOR and also ecas status changed to "Received by Visa Officer".

But in the meantime I sent a mail in this regard also send case specific enquiry to CHC, New Delhi.

DO I need to write back some thing to CHC. Pls advice.

in my application to cio,i left the surname coloumn blank because i m not using the surname. all my education certificates and experience certificates r without my surname.now i came to know that they may reject my application.i should have written N/A in place of leaving blank. pls give ur expert openion.
