it seems that you are the expert here.. please help me as i started to go crazy because of this entire immigratio process..

i applied to CIO on Mar 2009 (as per the new MI which included 39 occupations by that time)
i received my first AOR on 15 April 2009
i submitted my file to the visa office (cairo office) on 5 Aug 2009
i received the second AOR dated 12 Aug 2009
(e-case changed to recived by visa office)
i applied for the first CAIPS notes and received it on Feb 2011, Bring Forward date was set as 5 Nov 2010, but i wasn't contacted by the visa office for anything at all
at 5 April 2011, my e-case changed to in process...

my question is;
did the finish my background check? am i expecting a medical request now?
or, are they are still in the bakcground check status?

if the bring forward date was set more than five months ago, and my status changed to inprocess after five months from the bring forward date, do you think that they are still conducting the background check? or already finished it??

thanks a lot Qorax, you are the best..
but i have one last question...
when we (cairo applicants) approach the embassy asking about the time when our files might be processed, they keep sending one template which says that it will take at least 24 months from date of submitting the full file...
with a simple calculation, i will reach 21 months after 2 weeks from now, and they need at least one months from the date they receive the medical (after i do it) and further 3 weeks to stamp the visa (those dates matches what cairo visa office applicants has been saying duriung 2010)
my question is, do you really think that they didn't finish the bakcground check till now, because if they didn't, and as per what everyone is saying that this process (background checking) usually takes 4 to 8 months, this way the embassy will breach the time frame (the new delayed one) which they keep announcing...

do you think that it is different from an embassy to another?

There so many people from CHC LDN who status have turned to In Process in last 2 months but there inside details are same as RBVO
could you please give idea to us what is happening to our applications? what should we expect in coming months ?

With a slight difference in timeframe between the VOs the b/g checks usually take 6-8 months from the 2nd AOR. And that timeframe [of 2yrs.] mentioned by your VO is the 'ideal scenario'... things do get wary on a case-to-case basis. There's no 'breach' -- some make it, while some don't...

Nothing is 'complete' till u get your PRVs... just that u have been found to be 'provisionally' accepted for the PR processing.

Any time until you get your visa background checks could be carried on.
Nobody here on the forum can tell you when they are finished. It is only known to the decision making officer.

Dear Qorax.
I am a quebec selected applicant from Pakistan and my file was transferred to CHC London in june 2010. In Jan 2011 i received MR + RPRF + Upadated forms and Upadated PCC. And i did the medicals in Last week of Jan 2011 and sent the respective forms + RPRF + PCC in feb 2011, which reached CHC London on 15th FEb 2011. Now its three months i did my medicals what do you think when can i expect PPR?

It started from the date of the 2nd AOR signed. It'd complete as u receive your med forms. 'In Process' is an e-Cas status - which isn't updated/in sync with the VO's actions. It's maintained by a separate cell of the CIC & there'd be admin delays.

Process timeframes can only be generalised... but cannot hold good for each & every applicant. Some move faster, while some late... and there r some who get stuck [God forbid]. Lot depends on our filing, its supporting docs & its presentation... while Security Checks s something no one can predict on.

Pls log-on to trackitt.com to assess timelines - VO wise.

1. Your b/ground checks r 'on'.
2. As u complete that u'd get your meds call. Timeframe is 'generalised' to 8 months from 2nd AOR.
3. Usually u r looking@24-36* months for the Visa.
