I am an august 2014 applicant and just got off the phone with CIC agent and he told me my application is in background check process does anyone know what steps follow before i get a passport request ?

I would dare to say even CIC doesn't know it!

Looks like old CEC are being processed faster than before, most September 2014 applicants got MR recently, so hopefully you'll get it soon

Is anybody knows what if we forgot to mention indian experience in the background history form when we entered in canada. can we put the indian experience in CEC catory now as I didn't show when I got student visa.

You're application should be consistent throughout, if you 'forgot' to mention your work experience on both occasions then let it be because changing it now will bring suspicion only. They may reject your application as well.
