Background check taking too long

Hi
I submitted my inland CEC 1Dec2023, all is complete other than background check; apparently its stuck in "comprehensive security check" since April . They asked for CV/student form, the latter totally irrelevant , more than a month ago in May and there is no news since.
Does anyone know how long this type of check takes? IRCC says there is no timeline .

Did you order GCMS notes and read what was the concern that the analyst added there before ordering the enhanced check?
Second, what is your home country is it one of those considered hight risk by IRCC, or were you/your spouse in the defense forces?

There was no reason mentioned in GCMS or CBSA notes. Just said security required. I was born in Iran, nothing else. How long does this check will usually take ? I wrote to prime minster's office , they directed it to immigration minister office, but at the end of it all they said there is no timeline and nothing can be done.

Ya Iran is a big red flag, unfortunately. When you are in enhanced security there is nothing much you or others can do. It is beyond anyone's control. I would suggest patiently waiting and preparing yourself mentally to face long delays. If you are lucky it might close in 3 to six months from the date the BG check started, if you are unlucky it might take longer some have waited even 3 years. Even extreme steps like a writ of mandamus get rejected in the name of national security, but I hope and pray yours PR will come faster and you gain the strength to patiently endure the waiting period

I know it is frustrating as we didn't choose the country of birth, but hey life is unfair for a lot of us in many multiple ways. We can only control what we are allowed to control.

3-6 months from security start date or from general background start date?
Last time I checked the notes it had "not started" under security sub activities section which I find confusing because I got asked for my CV in that time. I am starting to think there is a backlog for security checks, is that correct ?
