Background check in progress. Eligibility decision pending.

My AOR is June 9th 2019. I had to resubmit some of my work documents in October. When I reached out to CIC in December I was told that my eligibility is in progress and background check has not started yet. Today they mentioned that background check is in progress with third party agencies and for eligibility they are waiting on the report from background check.

Is the usual BG that takes anywhere between little to forever time? Or could be BG check for work as they said eligibility is still pending?

Whats your nationality? Were you in Military service ?

Did you get any Gu so far ?

Indian nationality, currently a resident in US. No military service. There might have been a GU a couple of months ago but nothing recent.

My AOR date is Jan 18 2020. I noticed GU yesterday the my Background check change from: We are processing your background check to Background check in progress.

Pls, what is the difference?
