background check from not needed to in progress

Hey congratulations benzylamine, and everyone else who got their PR!

My background check status changed to 'In Progress' today from 'Not needed at this time'. Submitted my application on January 6th.

Not sure if anyone can answer this, but does this background check status change mean that the rest of my application has been reviewed with only background check to deal with, or the whole of my application is being reviewed right now?

I think this means that your application is just fine and they are waiting for you BG to be cleared.
BTW, what is your category?

Hello. I am applying for Canadian immigration through express entry.
I am a FSW with a LMIA. I am an outlander.
ITA: 9 March.
AOR 24 April
Meds passed: 25 April
BG: in progress 27 April
BG: not needed at this time 28 April
Nothing after that.
BG: in progress on 22 June and still going in progress.

Can anyone from his experience tell me what's happening with my application and how long is it going to take for PPR. What does it means when your security Background goes to in progress for the second time?

no one could know...we all have a different types of pr application so it doesnt matter if the bg check changes twice or thrice its all about the time frame that they have given to us to wait.. but if you really want to know whats going on to your application order a gcmc notes.. good luck..

2nd time BG check is related to Security only. As they have check other things earlier. It should take 2 to 4 weeks on average. If you have visited or lived in countries which has a history of crime/terrorism/fraud application/Hunan rights violations etc, then it might take more time.
