It's OK to have overlapping dates.

Can you tell me after i graduate while i wait for PGWP i work full time under OCWP its 2 months so it will count under 1 year CEC because cic says while you waiting for your work permit you can work if you OCWP under PGWP program can i submit my file now or not please i really need your help for i m ready to submit only this confusion.

CIC says only you can work while you are waiting to obtain your PGWP which is already applied but where does it say those experience obtained during the wait with OCWP will also count towards your skilled work experience? I couldn't find that

It says on PGWP page see that page "If you have a valid off-campus work permit (these are usually issued for the same period as your study permit, for instance, a period of study plus 90 days), you can start the job while waiting for your work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program."

Yes buddy, you are right the context u r referring is only allowing you to continue working with OCWP but I couldn't find anywhere saying that experience obtained with OCWP while waiting for PGWP counts towards ur 12 months skilled experience,your PGWP commencing date will miss out those 2 months which puts u 10 months of experience with ur PGWP.

For instance, I got my WP extended when I got my new WP it started from the issuance date it didn't resume from the next month of expiration, I got 2 months additional due to the gap at that point CIC didn't scrutinize my old expiration and didn't start from there, do u see what I am saying?

U may argue those 2 months comes under PGWP but i strongly believe ur WP doesn't have date applied we can't expect VO to pull ur profile for date applied, all they see is commencing date and 12 months of skilled experience preceding the application is made

I see below note in application guide which is again very clear indication that it doesn't count (it's ur call to take that risk buddy, I don't think it's worth risking 550$ and 2 to 3 months rather u could wait for 2 months)


Note: The experience must be acquired after you have completed the required study and obtained a Canadian credential (work performed under the Off-Campus Work Permit Program or co-op work terms do not count).

Asha earned a 2-year MSc from the
University of Toronto. During her
studies she worked part-time at a
private laboratory on an Off-Campus
Work Permit. Upon graduation she
applied for and received a PostGraduation Work Permit and has
been working at the same laboratory
full-time for the past 6 months.
Eligible work experience
under the Post-Graduation
Stream of the CEC must
occur after graduation.
Work performed on an OffCampus Work Permit
(during studies) does not
count under the CEC.
Asha would need to work
full-time for another 6
months before she will
qualify for the CEC.

Still the same buddy, it says "received a PGWP and has been working for 6 months" so she has 6 months only after receiving PGWP, so she needs 6 more

So it is very clear based on this example u need to wait for 2 more months
