Hello all!

I understand that RCMP and CSIS are some of the agencies used to run security and background checks...when you think about background checks, do they usually contact or check with past employers and university and stuff (for spousal sponsorship)??

What you heard anything as such and input!

Please and thanks in advance!!

That's my exact question. Can someone help if they know anything about this? Thanks so much.

The point is that they can.

Suck it up - everything takes time.

Yes be patient like the rest of us lol ...Ive been waiting 20 month since CIC asked CSIS to get involved ! :(

Yes they can check everywhere and anywhere. It all depends on whether the initial application throws up a red flag. Someone proclaiming they are highly skilled for example but the application is written in poor English, will throw up a red flag. (I know this as a co worker had this problem)

Mostly CIC can see through an application that has maybe been exaggerated, hoping this will speed up the process. That is why it is always best to be brutally honest when you apply. Remember for spousal applications your working history and qualifications do not matter.

So I have studied in Canada at a university ... not completed my degree because of problems having to leave Canada while studying .... I was deported due to a failed refugee and PRRA claims.

MY school started charging me international tuition at the end of last year just as I was about to leave and my tuition in outstanding at 10000 CDN with interest keeps building up. I can get this all resolved once I get back to Canada because I have made an agreement with my university to get this tuition crap fixed.

My question here:

Would this have any effects on my background checks while it's been conducted by CSIS?

Hi Minku, Don't mind but i think you already got Ur PR.... so what's issue with this background check?????

Hi confused. This won't delay anything so don't worry. As you say you can't ifx this until you come to Canada
ciao mon

Thanks so much guys! I appreciate your response so much!

Like someone very rightly said that they can totally choose to. I just hope they don't because CSIS involvement clearly elongates the process!:( And I pray the same for you guys as well. Hopefully those who are waiting get done with this process soon too!
