Background Check before Test???? Is this normal

All senior members,

I called CIC on Monday this week and the call center agent told me that last activity was shown on my file few days back and it was about Background check, it is so surprising to me as my Background checks are conducted less than a year ago, Based on the other members reported in this forum for my visa office, I am expecting my test any time, and the question is :


Do they do a quick internal Background Check before Test invite & Oath?? is this normal for everyone and anybody know how long it takes??

Yes background checks are a normal part of the process in the citizenship application.

Yes it is a part of it, plus CIC checks to make sure the information you provided about yourself travel etc. is correct
