Background check after Medical

Hi Everybody,

As you know next step after medical is Password request, but in some case which the applicant is from IRAN or Pakistan the officer will send the application to CSIS to background check and they are going to check history of jobs and traveling.

Please share your experience about that and let us know how lang it takes.
 
Everyone goes through background check and I thought everyone goes through csis - regardless of passport country.

but last week the office called me and he asked about my last employer which I worked in my home country (IRAN) and he told me my application process it will be longer because they are going to check my background. he told me it will take about 6 months.

It's very kind of them that they actually tell you it's gonna take a while. They must have found something that needs a deeper investigation. Try to keep yourself busy during this waiting game, it's stressful and the busier you are, the less time you've to worry about your application ;)
 
I found this on internet that for every country CIC has profile so every applicant is checked against that profile if you fit the profile well then it goes to CSIS for detailed check, I am waiting for my background check to be over since May ::) ::) ::) ::)

did you get the call from CSIS or from CIC, when did you file your application??? I filed in July 2012 and still my file is in process waiting for security clearance

I got call from CIC and I am Feb 2013 applicant. My Ecase status changed to start process after call. Can I ask where are you from? because the nationality is very important for this case.
 
I am in the same boat as you guys. My every thing is passed except security. I was told by my local MP that they are doing a comprehensive security check on my file. It could take up to another 6 months. My lawyer told me that they also check with INTERPOL and INTERPOL is under no timeline for replying thats why it takes longer. All we can do is wait.
 
CSIS complete security checks for all applicants - it doesn't matter which country you are from. However, depending on the country and your background, it can take longer to complete.

When your MP told you that it will take 6 months more......... recently? I thought whole security thing will just take 6 months......

My criminality was in process for a while and it recently got passed. Security starts after everything else is clear.
 
so you have already received your medical request or waiting....well it looks like things are moving fast in your case,

I got medical request and I did 2 week ago same as a lot of applicants who applied in Feb 2013.
I have to wait and see what happens after now.
