Back ground check

Hi if any body please help me to explain how back ground check ,,like they go to your work,,bank,,home or relatives,,please help as i get my first approvel that time i work full time but due to some reason now i work parttime on same place,,so they gonna call my work too or whatelse on background check as i have no criminal record please tell me thanks in advance

There are lot of discussions regarding this topic in this forum.
I gathered some information from various posts are:

What is background check?

Background check is conducted to check out if applicant or any of his dependents could be involved in espionage or terrorism activities or be of any other danger to Canada. Background check starts shortly after the application was logged in and is conducted parallel to application consideration without applicant's participation.

How long does the background check take?

There is no set timeframe for background check. Its duration can be affected by such factors as military service, foreign trips, membership in political organizations. It takes as much time as it requires.

What is security interview?

Security interview is different from selection interview. It is a part of the background check and designed for the same purpose as background check. Applicant can be called to security interview even if selection interview has been waived.

thanks so much for your answer so what i understand is that they not gonna come to my work as i have no crimnal record or any thing so preety save right

All I know is that according to Jamaica with our file they are waiting on results. Hmm for the last 10 mths. They told me via email thats what they are waiting on. Hubby only came here(Canada) and has clearance from RCMP. And still we wait.

I am not sure either if I understand this whole background check thing, we got both security check , police check, from Netherlands and Canada back all good, also fingerprinting all good, plus we have no dependants on our appl, should that not be an open and shut case????

Hi,

It is not necessary some one will come and meet your employer or you regarding this procedure. They may carry out the check through the agencies even without your knowledge. So don't worry about it. It is a part of the PR process.
