Hi everyone! My wife and I are currently in South Korea. She is a Canadian citizen at birth who was born in libya and I am a Pakistani national. We are planning to have our first baby. One option that we have is to have a baby in Canada, ontario which my wife in not in favor of because she fears giving birth in my absence and there will be a 3 month waiting period for OHIP. Once again, I am a Pakistani national and will need to file for a PR before I even come to Canada. Our other option is to have a baby in South Korea and then file for my immigration and our baby's immigration to Canada. My question is will there be any complications if we file for immigration from Korea after having our first child here? How about our baby's education? will he or she have the same advantages as other children once we have a PR in Ontario? What are the chances for our immigration case to Canada to be declined or rejected? If it is rejected can we re-appeal?

As far as i know there are no any complications to apply after your first child in South Korea. the child will have the same right as citizens when it comes to education.

You don't have to worry about rejection as long as you fill the application, and having a child together will be a strong proof for your relationship.

If you apply outland you will have the right to appeal.

Many people may prefer to have a birth in Canada, because it has less paperwork than applying for PR and child can immediately apply for passport. Beside this will also have one advantage the child will be able have his own childs outside of Canada and still be automatically Canadians by birth, but if this child is giving birth in North Korea his children can not be Canadians automatically they only ways it via PR.

Once the baby is a PR, he or she can become a citizen. He or she will have the same rights as any other Canadian with respect to education, health care, etc.
You'll most likely be accepted, since you have been living together and will have a child together. If you are rejected, you can appeal.

Is there a reason why Ontario?

If your wife moves from South Korea to Alberta, she will get provincial healthcare instantly. There are no 3 months wait.

In Alberta she can get an Albertan health card right away. In Ontario she will have to wait for 3 months. To get an Albertan health card, she will have to be residing in Alberta. There is no difference if the baby is born in Alberta or in Ontario - it will be a Canadian citizen at birth in either place.
