I am a US Citizen and my wife is a Canadian citizen. We have a daughter who has dual citizenship and another child on the way in a few weeks.

We are planning a move to Canada and I am hoping to get my FBI history in a week or so (sent it in October).

Since so many of the forms require passport information and the like, should we send everything in prior to the baby being born and not include the baby? I figure the baby will get dual citizenship pretty quickly, but if we put the baby on these forms without passport/etc, it might confuse the CIC. Our biggest concern is getting PR status for me.

Just submit your app now. As the baby will be Canadian, s/he wouldn't actually be included in the app, nor would you need to include his/her passport. Once the baby is born, you can send a copy of the birth certificate to the VO.

When I did mine, I found out I was pregnant 2 days after I submitted my application(CPC-M for US outland) so I decided to wait until I got SA since I would have no file number in this system for them to attach the info to. When I got my application returned ( missing signatures) I put a note in there when I resent it explaining the situation. Nothing more was said or asked until a document request a month after he was born ( I had emailed Ottawa as soon as I was home) for his birth certificate. His father is Canadian by birth ( Born in Canada) so though my son was born in the States, he is Canadian through my husband. He was never listed as a dependent on my forms, never needed his medicals or a passport, just a birth certificate. In my case anyway but other offices may be different. If your child is born in Canada , it would be the same as the child wouldn't need to be sponsored. They just want the family info.
