Baby born to Canadian parent outside Canada

Hi Everyone.
I am a Canadian and my wife is in PR. She prefers to do the pregnancy close to her family in India. i read that i can pass down the citizenship for the child but i also read that the process might take 17 months or longer. is there a way i can bring the baby to Canada during this time? is there any special visa i can apply? please advice.

You can pass on citizenship provided you were born in Canada or obtained citizenship through naturalization (vs. through descent).

Thank you. does this temporary passport and citizenship go parallel, mean can I use the temporary passport to bring the baby here while I wait for the citizenship?
