Greeting to all!

I went through all the consulte sites but still have not an answer. I would appreciate if someone can give us clarification:

We are Canadian parents living in hong kong. Baby is born in India and we intend to bring baby to Hong Kong from India. We had applied for baby's citizenship and also will get a white temporary passport. To my understanding, this white temp passport is for us to bring baby back to canada (!?) Can we travel to other places, aside from Canada, (e.g hong kong) with the white passport? Does it had any limitation comparing with the regular passport? Can baby apply for a regular passport in hong kong?

Many thanks ahead for your kind attention!

Since you would be applying for your child's first passport at the consulate in person anyways, why don't you ask the staff there in person?

a canadian passport can be issued to a child even before the canadian citizenship card. that's the situation with our child too. the passport was issued I thing for less than a months and we applied abroad. So just after the child is born you can apply for it's Canadian passport and travel to Canada without any doubts. just consult the staff in your country Canadian Consulate.
