Long time lurker in these forums, thanks for all the excellent info so far.

We are expecting a baby towards the end of this month so basically 3-4 weeks away. I got an ITA from the Feb 7 2018 draw and am getting my documents in order- FBI and India PCC and medical specifically. My CRS score is 446 and my birthday(-5 points) is 3 months away.

In my county its going to take at least 3 months (conservatively) to get birth certificate and passport for the new born.

Here are the options I am considering:
  1. Decline invitation and accept a potential later invitation. (Not sure if I want to take this risk)
  2. Proceed with application and get medical and birth certificate for new born and submit a LOE and risk getting rejected.
  3. Do I have any other options?
Would love to hear if others have had experiences like this.

My suggestion would be to...
Option 2. Apply now, while you meet the criteria for the ITA. Then, after the child is actually born, add them to the application as a dependant.

The only issue I see there is the birth certificate and passport.
There is no way the passport is going to be ready by the 90 day deadline. The passport has a dependency on the birth certificate which takes a month or so.

IRCC understands that some things take time. Usually they are reasonable if requested to allow more time for follow-up documents to be made available. Just get things going as soon as possible to ensure that the application is "locked in" with your current ITA.
