B4 Form Guide for entering Canada

I am finding these forms very confusing.

- How can I assign a value to non valuable items like clothing, shoes etc? should the value be 0 since these are mine and are used?
- with regards to jewelry values, should it be the price I bought the gold pieces at (I have all the invoices) or simply a calculation of the gold price piece today based on today's gold prices?
- What if i don't have any goods to follow and i will simply buy everything from Canada. What should I submit in this form then?
- What category should I select on the form if I am landing for the first time and don't intend to stay for 12 months yet on the first landing?

Please help as I will be soon doing my landing.

If I am coming to Canada only for a few days to get my landing done, do i need to check the "seasonal resident" box when i land for the first time or the "Settler" box?
I am confused. I will be having very few "goods accompanying" as I am only visiting to complete my landing formalities.
Will this 'land' me in trouble?
i will be carrying a detailed goods to follow list as well , but making sure i am not messing up the form.

Thanks! any input is appreciated.

We were told to assign a "garage sale" price to your goods...that helped us a lot..if your going to buy everything in Canada then you have no goods to declare...Not sure what you mean by category..settler or visitor?

there's a section on the form where you have to check which category you fall into. settler refers to PRs, i believe the seasonal visitor is for temporary residents, and there is a category for canadians returning (I forget the offical word used).

*IE:
B4 Goods line #1 - Kitchen supplies/ Bathroom supplies
Name/Quantity/Value/Serial Number
Can opener/1/10$
Coffee mugs/5/30$
Blistex/1/2$
Total Value = 42.00$
Way too detailed here. Unless its electronics, high value items or jewelry it just needs to be bundled together under the appropriate title.

Seriously - a can opener!

The issue for me is I am already in Canada and my stuff is in boxes back home. I have a family member looking into it but I'm not asking them to go through every item. Its just books, cds, dvds and photo albums.

As long as I know roughly how many boxes and what is in them (generally it should be good)

At the border the Agent made me total each page ( we had 45 pages) and then add all of it together....I was using my phone calculator and file cover for paper and chatting all at he same time!!!

For someone that applied and landed inland, what if they don't know exactly everything they want to bring back to Canada after going home to visit?

I understand CBSA might prefer them to go to an office and get a "goods to follow" form stamped, then travel to home country, bring the goods back along with the stamped list.

From what I've read, it seems it should also be possible to go back to visit family, then pack whatever it is to bring to Canada and fill out an "accompanying goods" form and present that when coming back in to Canada (entering for the first time as a PR).

I think it should be fine. I'm going to a CBSA office after I have landed to present my form

The original link to the B4 form in this thread does not work anymore.
Can I ask where can we get the form to list our personal goods to bring and the things to follow?

Thank you in advance!
