Avoid Humber College

i already have 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, now i have applied for 2 year course in Seneca and Humber College.

these are the courses i applied for..
Seneca: 1st. Electronics Engineering Technician - Computers
2nd. Computer Networking and Technical Support
Humber: Computer and Network Support Technician

what do you think, are my courses great for finding a better job in canada? or should i apply in other college?

You can get job even without doing these courses, go for one year course from GBC of Business analysis or computer applied technology.
The courses you applied seriously I am not being offensive are actually sheer waste of time and money.

to everyone who have studied or know anything about Humber College,
is the education good for industry work? meaning what they will teach us is really helpful when i started working?

pls no essays about punjabis having great time, with low grades, and other acts, I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EDUCATION, NOT OTHER STUDENTS, THE HECK WITH OTHER STUDENTS, I WILL STUDY FOR MYSELF NOT FOR THEM. ;D

The IELTS requirement is not available online, one of my friend is working in International Deptt she used to be our classmate in 2009 session.

Regarding job, I want to give a small example. when I landed in Canada I got on Campus job very first day of my school in GBC, secondly I got well paid Co-op for 4 months $16/hr and after wards a job in bank @$18/hr. I never heard this from any of my friends from sheridian or centennial becoz none of them have enough on campus job and employment after graduation depends more on candidate capabilities but still exposure is provided by college.

please for god sake don't ask any reference or question about Humber, it is no where in picture, better apply a job of cook or truck driver with a consultant in India and land here on temporary work permit. because if you opt for humber people,employer and everyone in general will treat u like that. go to you tube and search "baisakhi in humber" you will get to see what the college is.

Go to Linkedin and serach for people who graudated from GBC you will get to know what they are doing now at what levels.

I went to Humber College and took post graduate. Best learning so far no regrets at all! if there is high visa rejections its bec soooo many students want to study here. genuine people who just finished like me. so dude think before you post! ;D

yes you can get off campus work permit after 6 months full time of study. im using mine right now.

thats a diploma, not a post graduate. the post graduate courses are mixed on their site. When you open a course it will indicate on the type- if its post graduate (Ontario Graduate Certificate Postgraduate) or a diploma.

Hi ,
Does the course that you select matters in these colleges?

I want to study pg diploma in marketing mgt , I have read your post and what you say makes alot of sense. Yes we do leave our places and go to a different country for a new exposure and experience. And if Humber and Seneca are like that, then is it possible to find a different mgt level crowd in the marketing mgt course of these colleges?
Also what are the chances of landing up a good internship or job if one has a good 2 year work experience but from a different country.

Except for George Brown College, colleges like Humber and Seneca fall into the same category. The only thing that makes GBC stand out is its affiliation to Ryerson University and good industry ties. Where as Humber ( affiliated to University of Guelph) and Seneca are also good and popular. Infact Humber has certain courses like ECAS, which are not available in other universities.

then senaca has affilation to york... dude.. get sme sense

This colege doesn't even send u letter of acceptance where as better colleges than Humber like Seneca and George Brown send u the acceptance in a Month's time !!! I know few Consultants in Canada and they told me that Humber is the place for Desis to enjoy, this is not a college to study !!!!

I applied to Humber for pg diploma in project management for jan2013 intake. Got "acceptance package " within 20 days.

Exp: 7 months

I was also rejected for VISA for a study program in HUMBER COLLEGE. There is no logic behind this but yes mostly punjabis are being rejected for HUMBER. I had everything geniune including loan.
