Hi,
Could anyone has info on how much available funds (savings) should be shown in your bank account for one visitor applicant regardless of your income ?
and with higher the income does available funds requirement is less ?

For example: if someone is making 60-70 K per year how much available funds they should show ?
Thank you.

Six months is a very long holiday. You can assume an average of $250 a day in Toronto, so you'd need to show more than $40,000. Even if you assumed $200, you're looking at showing $36,000+.

In addition, applying for a visa and saying you're going to stay for six months is very likely to lead to a denial (unless there's a very good reason for a six month stay).

I disagree. Applicant doesn’t have to show that much. We see people get approved with 10-15K.
Yeah it seems like too much to me as well. But do people often ask for the full six months and get approved (without a really good reason)?

Longer stays usually mean that people are staying with relatives so the whole picture will be examined. You can’t have zero funds but many of the parents visiting won’t have 40k.

This is for a parental visit and I second with canuck78 opinion. after posting this question I dig into finding some relative content and reading it from different sources, I can summarize since the single parent's accommodation is taken care of a minimum of 5 K to maximum of 10 K would be good enough.
I didn't find how much exactly a visitor should show in liquid funds per person if they are coming on a visitor's visa. may be it varies from province to province so their are no exact numbers mentioned on CIC. please correct me if I am wrong.
my additional question on the same topic is: let's say one has more than the average Canadian income, but they don't have enough funds sitting in their bank ( at most 2 K ) at the time of applying, will CIC still consider TRV on bases of the income regardless of the funds ?
Thank you.

I would recommend shortening the length of stay to 2 weeks or 3 weeks. This way you will have a much higher chance of getting approved. Note that eventhough you specify just 3 weeks they will still issue you a minimum of 6 months. My parents and brother got approved. I told them they will stay for 2 weeks but got aporoved for 10 yrs multi entry. My brother on the otherhand just got 1yr. Goodluck

Thanks Canuck78.
eceric01 I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I will show around 5-7K and will ask for 2-3 months. I am hoping that will be more appropriate.
