Auto Insurance Prices in Vancouver

Hi all,

I am moving to Vancouver in January and I am bringing my 2002 Toyota Corolla from the United States. I am curious as to what I can expect price wise for auto insurance. I have never had an at fault accident on my record. I do have one wreck from 2007 in which someone turned left in front of me, we hit head on. We both survived and I helped her auto insurance company track her down. (Always notify your insurance company if you get married and change your name! LOL) I also have a speeding ticket from 2007. I am 30 years old and I have never been married.

You can probably get an online quote (like bcaa) to have some idea how much spending in insurance.

Primary auto insurance is operated in BC by ICBC. Although you cannot get a quote from them directly their site should be helpful to understanding their process. Their site also offers information about service providers (brokers) that can assist you with actual quotes.

Also when you purchase your vehicle most of the bigger dealerships in BC have brokers on site that can assist you immediately on the spot. Makes things pretty simple.
Here's the link :

Good luck :)

Unfortunately their site only gives estimates for those with Canadian drivers licenses.
Once you moved here, you must exchange your US license for Canadian driver license in order to continue driving your car.
