I couldn't see any Ozzie or Kiwi timelines so if anyone would be kind enough to share their timeline here it will be much appreciated!

Or just to talk about how things are progressing for you if you're in Canada, or whatever! 8)

I'm in Quebec on a visitor visa while waiting for an outside Canada PR app to be processed.. not being able to work is a bummer, but being with my husband while waiting is awesome.

Has anyone already received PR from Oz or NZ? How long did it really take?
Be great to hear from anyone :)

I am a Kiwi!

Will be submitting to Aus in the next month hopefully. Just waiting on current work permit to be processed anyday now so I can include it in app.

Will update timeline once I get it all together.

Good luck.

i'm Canadian and sponsoring my Aussie bf. We both live in Canada but we are applying out land with Sydney office. We are a few weeks away from sending the application in just have to find time to get the medical. will update on here once we have sent it to Mississauga.

good luck!

I am a Canadian sponsoring my New Zealand spouse! We are currently living in New Zealand and will be applying out-land in a few weeks once all the final paperwork gets put together :) So nervous!!!

Hi Rachiy!

Are you in Canada atm on a work permit (that's getting renewed)? What province are you in? and are you enjoying work here?

Good luck with your app! 8)

Hi Figgy!

Good idea applying outland! is he working? I did my medical in Montreal and it only took about an hour, that's if the whole procedure can be done in the one place (blood, xray etc). I had to call a couple of places though coz it seemed the prices vary from one medical centre to another!

Good luck with it! :D

Hi Dawndarkharp!

How exciting for you both! Ya it is nerve-racking and the paperwork can be a little overwhelming! Just have as much information as possible and you'll be fine :)

Has your spouse been to Canada before? That's a big move! Where in Canada are you going to be? Good luck! :D

Hey Sammi,

I just got my work permit renewed for two years (found out yesterday). The last thing we were waiting on was my new work permit, so as soon as we pay the fees we will be submitting. Nerve wracking, but feeling so much relief seeing as I got two years on my WP instead of one.
We are living in Calgary, I am from Chch, and my common-law bf is from Vancouver Island.

How about you?

thanks sammi,

yes he got very lucky and got a full time job here straight away. He is here on a 2 yr working holiday visa. he is almost 1 yr into it so hopefully he will get perm. residence before the visa runs out.

we were going to do inland since we were both physically "inland" we didn't realize you can still apply outland and be "in canada" haha so thank god we have gone that route!

medical is the last thing on our list to do! we found a place that does it all we just have to find time to go!

good luck with everything

Oh awesome news re WP! That must take a load off for sure.

I gotto say my fave part of the world (until I get to see more of Canada!) is Central Otago, so so beautiful. If I was to ever drag my husband back over home way I'd defo take him there.
I'm from the Gold Coast, we're living in Montreal. And ya I miss the beach! ha.

What's it like in Calgary? Are you finding it easy to settle in?

I have been in Calgary for almost three years now so pretty settled in! The first winter was funand learning to drive in so much snow was a learning experience but i like it here. My partner started his business here, theres lots of work and taxes are low so we will be sticking around, but we would rather live in BC. I miss the beach and lakes like crazy!

If you like Central Otago (i love it too!) then you will like the Oakanogan in BC. Very similar climate, lakes, wine and orchards. I love it there, but it is such a tourist and retirement place. lol. i would love to raise kids there though!

Oh wow i really butchered the spelling of Okanagan. I hate people that do that. Sorry!

Hi all. I'm a Canadian sponsoring my Australian husband. My husband is in Calgary with me and we're just about to file for a visa extension. We filed outland at the end of March, so we're hoping that we'll hear something in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Good luck to everyone. :)

Hi Sammi!

Thank you for the reassurance! I'm excited to send off the application after all our hard work!

My spouse has been to Canada before! He came to Vancouver once when he was 11, then he came to visit me in 2010 where we first met in person, then he came BACK to live with me for a year as a temporary worker! He loves Canada. We'll probably settle in Burnaby, BC with my folks until we can find our own place!

Thank you!!! :)

Just sent our application out on Friday!!!! Oh my gosh, I'm sick with worry! I really hope it goes through okay! :)
