ask your aunt get new birth certificate, submit your parents birth certificate with your aunt birth certificate to VO. No need to compare with passport name when you submit your aunt birth certificate and your parents birth certificate also accepted.
I submitted my uncle birth certificate and my father birth certificate, becasue my uncle hold canadian passport and my uncle full name in given name my grandfather name is matched with my father name added in my passport but I found safest way to submit uncle birth certi and father birth certi so through birth certificate helps clear picture of relationship.

Your aunt is Indian born! then she can apply at nearest Indian consulate to get birth certificate, or you/your relatives can also visit your local municiple corporation where your aunt born. if you/your relatives know the place of birth visit the registered Birth and death department of municiple corporation they will also help you/your relatives to get birth certificate, pay some chai pani money you will get it. my father went to municiple corporation and my father get his and my uncle birth certificate even my uncle was not present in India, clerk will issue within 3days as per my local municiple corporation in Gujarat state.

Well done OMM!

@auscan
If u r residing overseas - visit your local Indian Consulate - things would be done in a jiffy. There u also have an option of making an 'affidavit' stating that your Aunt is 'actually' your aunt with 'same parental parentage'. For which u could take any of her Indian docs with u (her old Indian Pp copy is the best).

Alternatively u can send the notarised copies of ur DAD and ur aunts SSC book where the parents names could be mentioned.

aunt has canadian passport and no proof of indian passport.what can she do
can she find birth certificate from India, I know in India birth certificate will be available from gram panchayat, taluka or district office or from municiple corporation.
this is the only best way that you prove relationship. possible to arrnage birth certificate from India, what about her canadian passport when she applied for passport which proof she submitted about her birth at time of application for Canadian passport? she submited any birthdate proof right? that is birth certificate or school leaving certificate. even school leaving certificate also acceptable as proof of birth and relationship, in my school leaving certificate my name is there and son of my fathers complete name.
if you arrange birth certificate, school leaving or passport copy with name of your grands which same match should in your aunty passport.
you need something official documents mentioned above is valid to show relationship.

I hope this helps you.

1. Birth Certs r always issued from the city/country of birth.
2. On what context r u thinking of submitting the Death Cert?
