hi everyone!

i was just wondering, my aunt has been denied sponsorship, but she told my we can still go thru with the application and advices me to still pass the requirements.

this will be my first time to apply for canadian visa under family class. if ever i would be denied, will this affect my future aplications i.e as a skilled worker in the future?

what are my chances to be approved under family class? im 22, unmarried, not an orphan.

thank you very much!

Your aunt tried to sponsor you but she was refused as a sponsor? Aunts generally can not sponsor you unless you are under 18 and orphaned or under a PNP if she lives in SK or MB. I think that the only reason they might allow your application to go ahead is if you have humane and compassionate reasons for why they should let you in anyway. You can try it but I can't tell you the odds. I don't think it would affect a later application for PR at all.

Unless your Aunt is single, has no children, her parents and grandparents are deceased, and she doesn't have a sister/brother/aunt/uncle/niece/nephew in Canada, only then could she sponsor you in the family class.

Since your aunt was refused as a sponsor, it is pointless to continue with the application. You will be refused, too, because you have no eligible sponsor. Sometimes people continue with the application even after the sponsor is refused: this is to keep their rights to an appeal. In your case I can't see how you would win an appeal either. Better to just try for another type of visa.

my aunt was married but now legally separated, mother is dead, father is incapacitated. and has no other relative in Canada. does this increase my chances for approval?

I'm confused because you already stated that your aunt was not approved to sponsor you.

If your aunt has not been approved as your sponsor - then your part of the application will be denied as well. In other words, there is zero chance your part of the application will be approved if your aunt has not been approved as your sponsor too.

No. One of the requirements of the principal applicant is to have an eligible sponsor. You don't, as your aunt's sponsorship application has been rejected.
There is really no point in continuing with the application, since you will be rejected. Apply under some other class.

thanks for the insight. if i get denied for this application under family class, will this affect my future applications, say under skilled worker? i am planning to apply for it after i get enough years of experience.

You will be denied under family class, but it will not affect your future application under skilled worker.

hi! my case is somewhat the same as with dragon17 in that my aunt wants to sponsor me, the only difference is that my aunt was approved of her eligibility to sponsor me. she is single, has no parents, grandparents, or children living in Canada. she also has no brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews overseas under the age of 18 whom she can sponsor. all her brothers and sisters are elderly. parents and grandparents are deceased. she's sponsoring me under family class - other relatives category. i just want to know what are my chances to be approved for a permanent residence visa when i submit my application to my country and how long will this process take? thanks.

Your chances are good but it may take a long time. You can see some processing times here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-other.asp
