I could nt as was not holding any legal status nor any implied status,so leaving the country was only the option

No u could stay in canada like i did. U shudve applied for a temp resident visa which extends your stay in canada as a visitor and not a worker anymore

Hi All,

I usually post in the CEC August 2014 thread but figured this would be useful here as well.

I decided to visit my MP to see what they could do. They informed me that my file is STILL under eligibility review, and have yet to start security and criminality.

I find this very strange, as I am 19 months into my processing time, have completed medicals and paid my RPRF.

She did mention that several files are being pulled for second review as they found handfuls of applicants applying under CEC that were not actually eligible, resulting in a backlog of files overall, and eligible candidates like myself being reviewed further.

My file was physically pulled 2 days ago by an officer for review. I am hoping it's just a check, check, check process and this is done with very soon.

I would highly recommend seeking help from your MPs, they can be of great assistance. I visited their offices yesterday and got a response this AM.

On the same day I received MR I also received a document request for Singapore police clearance because I worked in Singapore 6 months in 2013-14. Singapore police were very slow (everything done via snail mail) so I did not get my clearance document from them until March 7. It has now been submitted to CIC, but I suspect waiting for that document has set me back compared to other applicants. Some other August applicants who applied later than me already have their decision made.

None, it says only that my application is almost complete, I sent my passport today to cic.
