September applicant po ako, Live-in Caregiver (Vancouver) Direct Hire/ No agency.
Hanggang ngayon di pa ako nakakatanggap ng response sa embassy ng canada sa manila. Luckily, may tumawag sa mother ko kasi that time di ako ma kontak. Binigyan po kami ng FILE NUMBER at sabi nila JANUARY pa daw sila nag mail? hinihintay nila return to sender pero bakit wala pa rin daw. pano yun hindi umabot dito sa bahay? Sabi nila i-follow up ko daw sa post office (Davao) pero WALA daw ako mail!

nakakalungkot isipin pero cge lang atleast meron na akong FILE NUMBER. Can I ask?

1. Alam nyo po ba anong document yun na pinadala nila? Sa akin kasi baka request for medical yun. Ang mahirap kasi, hindi klaro yung pag relay ng message ng mother ko sa akin. Sabi "daw" ng tumawag return to sender tapos hintay daw ako 2 months para processing nanaman. ANO PO IBIG SABIHIN NUN?

2. Sabi nila, di namin daw pwd tawagan yun number na gamit nila. PANO PO SILA MA KONTAK PAG URGENT? pwd nalang po ba personal kami pumunta sa manila? or pwd ba mag request na mag resend na mail gamit yung VAC tapos Air21 gamitin?

3. At, may idea or experience po ba kayo saan napunta yung mail ko? kasi sabi ng mga kartero ordinary mail lang daw yan sila, kaya di nila ma trace.

PLEASE HELP. sa mga may idea dyan sana ma guide nyo po ako. SALAMAT NG MARAMI.

nag worry ako dun sa pwde nilang e-refuse ung application ko dahil wala akong tanggap na mail, kakatakot naman.. pano ba yan beyond my control ko na talaga yan...

Its beyond your control and its beyond CEMs control din. Lately they called u asking about ur application. Sad thing is di ka macontact and they try to call ur other number. If im on CEMs shoes i will think that u give a false information of ur address nor cellphone number coz either of them cant be trace. Nakasaad talaga sa application na if u changed address inform CEM about that coz yan lang paraan nila ma contact ka. Nun nagprocess pa lang ako i make it sure na may signal talaga phone ko at loud tone pa yan para pag tatawag sakali ang cem ay masagut ko agad kahit sa email ay from time to time chinicheck ko yan for 6 months. I heard kasi from my friend na di nya natangap yung mail from CEM na medical yata yun or something important na naging rason na na refused xa dahil naabutan na xa ng deadline.

But lets not cry over spilled milk, u still have time to fix it. Call CEM the soonest and inform your situation. Dun sa link na bigay ko sa PIASI Mag load ka lang nag malaki2 para complete talaga paguusap nyo. Gudluck po maam.

right on the hook pare... I'm planning to get a drivers license soon but i dont have much ideas on how to get it. If i got my lto certification which is significant right? Then thats the time for me to go further share mo na lang din pare pano kumuha ng cad drivers license.

Im planning to get a car also but not the brand new one is it a right choice? hehe.. salamat pare.

It's quite significant to have the LTO certification in my case. Without the said certification, I need to wait for 1 year to do the exit road test for the full license and may car insurance will be considered as no experience in driving thus the cost will be high.

So here's what I did. I ask a my sister in the Philippines to get the LTO certification in LTO Main Office in East Ave, QC (Tel#: (02)921-9072). I gave her a photocopy of my driver's license and an authorization letter (emailed everything). Here's the link I found.

My sister then claimed the certificate at the DFA office along Macapagal Blvd. The certificate will have a red ribbon already.

It was then couriered to me via FedEx. It cost around 2,000 pesos yata.

I've found a site for Newfoundland and it seems the same process here in Ontario.

I went to the nearest MTO (Ministry of Transport - Ontario) Drive Centre to inquire. So better call them or personally go there to clarify the process. I presented to them some documents (work permit, phil driver's license, passport and LTO certificate). Took the eye and written exam (you can buy a handbook or download online), which I both passed.

There are two exit road tests (actual drive test) here in Ontario. The last road test should be taken 12 months after passing the first road test. With the LTO certificate, I can skip the first one and go to the last one already, which I did. You need to have your own car. I have rented a car, so better be familiar with your rented car before taking the road tests. Took the road test and failed!

I've learned that I can only take the last road test once and if failed need to take the first test before going to the last one again. The road tests are not free. Here in Ontario the first and last road tests are $25 and $75, respectively.

To cut the story short, I have now passed all the tests in 3 months time. After I failed the first time, I got a 1 hour drive practice with one of the drive schools here, which costs around $40, before every road tests I did.

Brand new or used car

This is my experience so far. Buying a new car here in Canada for a newcomer is not easy, you need a credit history. I tried once during my second month here when I got my driver's license na and obviously hindi naapproved. Then I went on looking for a second hand cars. But the ones I like cost more than the budget I have. So I found the StartRight Program of Scotibank. Calculate how much the 25% of the cost of the car I can have with my budget.

Used car: No credit history, just pay in cash, insurance cost less (you can remove some coverage), need to have safety check from third party mechanics, sometimes no warranty, need to know the history of the car (in Ontario we have this used vehicle information package). I found this website:

New car: Need credit history or down payment for some car dealerships, insurance cost is higher (need to be comprehensive until you paid off the car to the bank), extra costs from the dealership (as usual)

You need to also check how to get license plates. In my case, I need my driver's license and car insurance to get it. The car dealership did that for me at a cost syempre.

Salamat ng marami. Yup, nag tawag sila and na confirm nila ang address na nilagay ko sa application. One thing, if I will send a letter to CEM, can I request documents from CEM and send it through a courier? I was told by the post office, ganun talaga daw yung mga embassy, hindi daw mga registered mail gamit nila. Salamat.

under LIVE-IN CAREGIVER po ako. di ko talaga alam, kala ko nga Air21 ung darating sa bahay namin. Taga Davao po ako.
Yup nag tawag sila at sabi nung CEM follow-up ko daw sa post office. Ano po pala kaibahan ng TWP at LIC? sorry po direct hiring kasi ako, wala masyado nag ga-guide sa akin. Si GOD na lang maaasahan ko nito.

Yes there is, nakakuha na ako before pero after 2 weeks pa kc ang release pag ang purpose is for visa canada.
Kaya if pwede pala ung travel abroad sa CEM ang nakalagay un na lang kukunin ko para mas mabilis ang release.
