Hello everybody,

"Katyyy" mentioned that the embassy replied to her employer's inquiry email with the following:

"We are currently operating at about 2 months for low-skilled workers and 6 weeks for high-skilled workers."My questions are:

1- Is it correct it takes 2 months for Low-Skilled workers and 6 weeks for high-skilled workers to get the visa?

2- Who are the high-Skilled and Low-Skilles workers? What are the positions under each? or how to define them.

TIMELINE: 1 August 2012 : Application submitted at the Abu Dhabi Consulate
15 Sept 2012 : Sent an inquiry and got a reply a week after regarding the application being process and processing time
usually takes 6 months. I don't think that sending the inquiry made a difference because i'm the only one
who submitted the inquiry.
2 October 2012: Passport request for the 2 applicants but the third one was being required for IELTS. Weird because we did
apply for FCA position only.

Hi everyone,

Reference to my inquiry referred to Katyyy's received email from the embassy, I found th efollowing that might be beneficial to you all:

- Low-skilled workers: are the ones with NOC types C and D.
- High-skilled workers: are the ones with NOC types 0 (management), A and B.

Hi my sutuvation is the same they ask for IELTS
Unfortunatly my passport with them. I sent a request 4 days ago so far no hearing
Am worryed because they given a deadline to submit test result
To do the test i need passport do they conceder the sutuvation and send me the passport?? ???

KARAN: u dont need original passport to take the exam, passport copies will do,,, but u should provide atleast emirates ID or labour card. may i ask what position did u applied for?

hello guys just new in this forum. my friend also helped me to find employer in canada and now im expecting my lmo and contract from canada. my question is what are the docs that i have to submit to the embassy? actually im here in oman and ive learned that i can send my application through aramex here in muscat to be delivered to canadian embassy in abu dhabi. and how should i pay for the processing. thanks and more power mga kabayan

IELTS Test Application:
Online

You can apply online and attach the required documents.
In Person

You can apply in person at the IELTS Registration Counter, Language Studies Centre, UOWD. Our office hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
For Abu Dhabi , you can register at our offsite testing location, Emirate College of Technology. Our office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
To complete the application you must bring:

2 passport photographs (see requirements below)
a copy of the acceptable identification you will use to register on the Test Date (see Acceptable Identification details below)
a copy of your valid passport

However my employer requested the embassy to omit the test
Because my occupation is not a regulated one besides it dosen need any formal education

that's what i've thought, u might run out of time, check some other testing center or universities here in Dubai (theres so many here) to if there are earlier schedules of the Test... I doubt they will omit it since they've already requested for it... Anyways we'll see....

But I would advise to keep searching for IELTS test center while waiting for embassy's reply.
Don't loose hope.

btw, when is your deadline for submission?
