Hello,

Is anyone able to share how long it took after submitting the oath paper and receiving the ecertificate? My ceremony is on the 12th but i have a flight on the 18th and concerned about receiving the ecertificate in time in order to submit the passport application.

Same day - 5 days. Talk to Oath officer, they can expedite the process.

Test was updated to completed on Nov 1st. Everything else is in progress, including BG.
Got a GU on Nov 30th. It's been a week. No fingerprint or interview request has been received so far. I am quite puzzled by it. Any ideas on what the GU could be about? If anyone has been in similar situation, could you share your thoughts and experience?

Test, language and physical presence have been updated to completed. However, background and prohibitions are still in progress.
Got a reply from web form.

• The security background verification is in process.
• The criminal background verification is currently valid.

Is this security check? How long will it take?

Yes and if you are in Enhanced security it takes most of the time over a year

if there was a fingerprint request (now delayed due to the post strike) and it says they are waiting for the fp before they can proceed (and all is marked as complete apart from prohibitions and background) does that mean the completion of prohibitions and BG is awaiting the fp? I've seen some people get dm the day after they receive the fp while others seem to wait. also curious what the difference is between bg and prohibitions?

Background consists of Criminality (Cleared By FP) and Security.

You need to call IRCC and ask if Security is completed or not.
If Security is completed and pending Criminality, then your background will be completed once FP is received.

If Both of them are still pending, then hope you will get security by time FP is received.
Otherwise, they will update the tracker to FingerPrints Received only and background will stay in progress

Prohibitions normally get completed after Background, but in some few cases Officers will complete it before Background.

today i had a talk with one of the agents in IRCC line , i`ve asked about my process ( me and my wife we are only waiting for Prohibitions to be completed since 14 november ) and the agent said that my criminality and security is completed and prohibitions didnt start yet . but on the tracker it shows in progress . in this situation if security and criminality passed , what we are waiting for exactly . im a little confused .

Yes but it was when I was under Work permit I do not think will affect so much because I left a day before my work permit expired and returned to Canada 12 days later and when I returned I activated a new work permit at the point of entry.

If it is within your eligibility period, you have to raise a webform with explanation letter and new physical presence calculations
