I got my test invite after 4 months of BG completion(June Applicant). Ottawa takes time.
Thank you for the reply. Thats what I have seen for Ottawa applicants. invite takes time. Did they delay your "test status" after you took the test? What is latest on your case?

I am writing in the hope someone can answer my question. I am currently single and am planning to get married in two months. Given I am currently eligible to apply for citizenship, Shall I apply now as a single and update IRCC about my marital status when I get married ( after two months) or shall I wait until I get married and submit my application with the status of married? I am afraid that my application may take longer if I apply as a single and then later update IRCC about my marital status. Many thanks in advance for your answer

December 27: On my online tracker I see I've been invited to take citizenship test between Jan 3-Jan 24. But I haven't received any email with instructions. Is this normal or should I contact IRCC?
It's normal. You may receive the test instruction e-mail as late as a day or two before the test window. You don't need the e-mail to sit the test, however. You can just follow step by step instructions link on the test website

Honestly quite disappointed with the immigration system! I called them today to ask why I haven't received email instructions yet, they said the office has forgotten to send the email for citizenship text! Seriously!? They said they will send a message internally to the office and let them know that I still don't have email instructions!
The agent said "don't worry if you the test window gets expired! They will extend it for you!" Well, thank you!!!

you do not need the Test email to do the test normally you can log in here and do it once your tracker says test invite sent https://ct-tc.apps.cic.gc.ca/?lang=en
but again, mayb they id not even enter you into the test system lol good luck and sorry for you experience i would be annoyed too

Well, I guess the bottleneck here is FP and apparently I wouldn't be able to proceed with FP submission without the letter! I also realized I can do the test as it appears to be independent from the information in the letter the email! But I asked this morning, the agent insisted that I should JUST WAIT and am unable to do anything to expedite the process!
Their system is obviously messed up, how come this is not automated and the email is not triggered with the changes of the status! Then you hear government paid millions of dollars to a software company who doesn't have a physical address to build ArriveCan!
