I wish it was that simple to forecast, it’s all over the place.
My understanding is, it won’t take too long from here as IRCC is working on clearing the backlog asap. Hang in tight you are almost there.

We have seen anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months here already,
But if there is a pattern I could understand, then it was that those who had more time till their Citizenship Test (like yours), have the Oath coming in sooner,

and those who had a reasonable timeline till the test (like me and others too) have the Oath coming late,

average processing time is 17-18 months according to my understanding.
So hope for the best, there is no fixed timeline here for anything.

My MP got back to me today with not so good news - as per IRCC: my Criminality verification expired last week and will need to be redone :( Staring at significant delays now that they have to redo my Criminality.
Update to my previous post:

So upon discussing the above undue delay in processing, and my need to travel back to my home country for an extended duration, my MP advised me to apply for UP through their office. After sending all the documents to them on Feb 4, I have finally received my Oath Invite today!!! :) Even though there are still many hurdles left (Certificate, Passport, Surrender, OCI) between Oath and my flight in May, nevertheless its a massive relief from all the stress that I was subjected to since the past 3-4 months.

My updated timelines - request somebody to please update the tracker (and thanks!)

hi,
i want to know if anyone knows how the citizenship application works for a person(18+) who is completely dependent on a caregiver(parent), due to medical/mental disability.
i tried to look for a special application form but didn't find anything useful except this policy.
Since the dependent form is for children under 18 i am not sure i can use that.

From your Oath date on March 2nd, you are looking at approx 2 weeks till citizenship certificate,

10 days for Canadian Passport, (cost 160$ per adult),
Then surrendering Indian Passport (cost 122$ Per person),
OCI (8 weeks and 345$ per person),

Long and costly journey still. But congratulations, you have waited for long enough and have contributed a lot.

Hi all

Those who attended the oath, did you join the meeting exactly on time or couple of minutes early?

you be there 2-5 mins before,

and allow them to allow you in.

Thanks for your wishes and all that valuable info. I am already worried about dealing with BLS! Once the OCI card is in hand - then I can actually say that my journey is truly over!
