Citizenship Oath invite - Sept 29th - But postponed it due to travel plans to next year.. so wishing everyone all the best in application process.

Also Raj in the tracker i think last post i mentioned updates in April 18 , it was actual Aug 18th , please correct that .

We are so frustrated about the delay happening in the Calgary office. Someone has to look into this.

All applicants from western Canada, Calgary, Saskatchewan and other provinces can sign a petition about the delays. And we can get signatures and push government to act fast.. Calgary and Saskatchewan applicants are looking more than 6 months delay. It takes 4 months after decision made to get ceremony..

When did your Oath ceremony section in the tracker change from not started to scheduled? I mean how long after DM?
We have a very similar timeline- I also sent my application on Aug 20, 2020, and completed my test on Jun 15 2021.
It’s been over three months since I took the test and nothing(
Three months or more just for an Oath invite??!!
At least you now know the exact Oath date, but we still don’t know how long it might still take to finally receive the passport.

2020 applicants are the unfortunate lot I guess, our applications have been put on the backburner while 2021 people are getting their Citizenship. Welcome to the First World.

We have the exact same timeline, August 20.. I am still waiting for Test invite.

Someone from my office who is a 2021 applicant from Mississauga office who got test invite last month got Oath scheduled already in ~ 3 weeks after test.

Looks like they are speeding up 2021 applications and have put 2020 applications aside to process at snail’s pace.

Anyone from Ottawa who got a test invite? I have been waiting and waiting ... it seems like the probability of me getting my death certificate is higher than getting my application beyond the 'background verified' stage (which I got on February 24th). I would like to have the job of whoever is working (or not working) the case files in Ottawa.

I feel your pain my friend. We both are in the same boat. Only my file is in Scarborough who is processing 2021 applications and have forgotten about 2020.

I am not a lawyer but I think we have grounds for discrimination or some other kind of law to sue IRCC. It is reasonable to expect that at least 80 percent of the applications made before December, 2020 be completed before processing 2021 applications. It is just not fair!

It is discrimination, I have faced this throughout my life at different stages - School, University admissions, PR application, US tourist Visa and now in Citizenship.
One would believe that these things would improve over time as we grow as a society however the truth is far from this.

I verified on 15th Sep and all the status got changed. It happened with in 1 day

Hello Guys,

I have completed my Oath on Sept 08, 2021 and my Application is approved and closed now in Online Tracker. However, Today morning I received a request to email to send Passport copy. Does anyone has same issue? I don't understand why CIC needs my Passport Copy after becoming Canadian Citizen.

Hello Krunal,

we also received the request for passport colored pictures /scanned copies, but for us, it is DM.

It appears that the email is a technical glitch. But one needs to be sure.
