This is not true you canot see or check except with AOR number .

ecas will not show any information unless there is AOR Number
I didn't receive any AOR! and I was able to check my status using my UCI number! You could have searched a bit before accusing others to be wrong! THANK YOU

Nope. You can simply use your UCI number and check status on ECAS. Me and so many others on this forum have been doing the same thing.

i could not do this. I have my application number and checked ecas, it only says that the application has been received. I do not have AOR yet, so i incline on the side that I have to wait for it first.

Yup. For quite a few applicants, the AOR, for some reason, was sent via snail-mail rather than as an e-mail. I hope you get yours soon.

Like I mentioned before and the agent confirmed as well, the system is not reliable ATM to check or confirm anything. It might say received when its already in progress or it might not say anything when its already received.
Best thing is to call them to confirm your status first hand and expect delays accordingly until IRCC goes back to work with full staff.

I'll probably call them mid Feb if I don't see IP status by then.

Yes. In all likelihood by then the file might have been transferred to the local CPC even if the system status does not change to IP.

Once the file transfers you can sit back because they don't just transfer files and let it sit there if there isn’t anyone to look at it..At least thats what I understood from what the agent told me about the transfer.

My application changed in ECAS to "In Process" on January 20th, 2021. Please updated it in the file. Thanks.

Hello friends - So today I called up CIC for enquiring about app status, which went as follows:

- Called around 11.30 AM - Wait time was 33 mins (had chosen the call back option)
- The agent informed that my application is "In Progress" currently and is actively being worked upon - even though ECAS shows "Application Received".
- As per agent, the status change to "In Process" happened on 22nd Nov 20 being the last update > which is really surprising since I received my AOR on that same date. So no clue as to how they can be the same.
- My file is still with the Nova Scotia center > Agent could not provide info as to when it would be transferred over to the local Vancouver office. At the same time it was mentioned that the files are no longer sent physically to the local offices, since they have access to it online itself.
- Next step is the Citizenship Test (online) and the case officer would be sending out an Email for this. Absolutely no timelines provided - which was expected!

I called yesterday as well, as I have requested urgent processing and they gave me the same answer, that my application is in-process and on Ecas all I see is AOR on Nov 26 and my primary office is Sydney and Secondary office is Ottawa. I was a bit skeptical about the in process, as IRCC says In-process is "when Your file has been sent to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) office closest to your home for processing. " and my file is still at Sydney? how come? but then their answer they gave it to you explains that everything is now online and no physical files are sent.

My time line is almost the same as yours, AOR Nov 27. But in my case the agent said the file is at Scarborough CPC. Not sure how they are distinguishing In Process these days with the online system against physical file transfer like before.

this is because criminality and security checks are done at Sydney office and most of july/august applicants are going through this rite now.

Well, finally the status on ECAS changed to "In Process" yesterday - on the same day I had called them: A coincidence? :)

Hi guys,
Just checked my online status and, to my surprise, I saw "In process".
I'm sure it's been updated today, because I also checked it yesterday and the status was "Application received'. I was even planning to call CIC on Monday, but guess no need to do that now.
The three lines on my status are as follows:
- We received your Application on August 19, 2020. ( it was my 2nd application, since my first (March) application was returned)
- We sent AOR on November 27, 2020
- We started processing your application On January 21, 2021.
Now, my questions are:
1. Do you think they have really started processing on the specified date, or it could be earlier? ( I ask this question after reading some members' comments about calling CIC and stating that their application had entered the in process stage since when they received AOR, even though when they check the status online it is still Application received.
2. Why does CIC manage to update the status for some applications, while not doing so for others even though their applications are in process?

I'm of course happy about seeing my application status change to in process, but I also cant wait for this process to be over! And if they have just started processing my application ( yesterday as stated), this means that I am not that lucky and will still have to wait for soo long!
You guys have any idea about when we might be called in for the test???
Good luck to all!
A.
