I really hope so. We had to wait for almost six months , only to get our applications returned - at times for ridiculous reasons I’m afraid to say( I resent the same application and not a different one ‘cause the documents were fine. So, if they consider the fact that our applications have already gone through the doc checking process- then it’s fair enough to expect ‘in progress’ soon. Anyways, I also believe that it really depends on the individual immigration officer who’s working with each application. Best of luck to you!!!

I think there's some confusion going on... I just received this e-mail:
"You may not have heard from us in a little while. This is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.

We send messages to your account if we need something from you. When we do that, we'll also send you an email to this address: xxx@xx.ca.

Learn more about what to expect while you're waiting for us to process your application."

The subject has the application Number, but that's it. This isn't really the regular AOR but could be confused with it, I suppose?

Hello guys,
I sent my documents around August 10-12 (don’t remember exactly). I wasn’t notified of the delivery since I didn’t choose to track the package thinking it’ll be okay. I realized how that it’s been a long time and I should’ve received my AOR as most of you did but I got no updates since then.

Should I be worried? It feels like I sent my docs to nowhere

A good number of people even from june-july apparently are waiting for AOR; the way they are reviewing applications IMO is they pick a random # each month (quota/target perhaps) before they come back and get to the remainder from the previous months and so on.
It would have been a good idea to track the package at least you might have known they received it, in this case all you can do is wait until you hear back from them.

I am considering sending it via courier as well. Please can you share how long it took to get delivered and how much it costs? Also, how does this differ from using Canada Post Express? Thanks

I think people who sent it by courier are getting AOR, people who sent it by Canada Post are still waiting.
My application was delivered august 18, lets see if I hear anything in the next few days.

Congrats on your AOR. Please can you explain why you think courier delivered is getting AOR faster? Did you deliver yours via courier? And Canada Post Express is considered a courier unlike the regular unregistered mail right?

Not true, mine was sent by Canada Post and I got AOR last Sunday. Also my First & Last name starts with V, so even the last name theory goes out of the window.

Finally called IRCC and the application on that e-mail sent previously was my PR application (which was completed in 2017), so most likely a database error. Still waiting on AOR lol

I sent it through FedEx and it was free for me.

Mine was via Canada Post, I wish I had sent it via courier Since it is comparatively faster though a little expensive.
there was a separate thread here where someone was trying to track AORs based on Courier and PO Box and I believe at that time the people getting AOR were the ones who sent it via courier. However we have noted now that PO Box submissions are also getting AOR
