One needs to apply for a Visa Extension or a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) if one's visa is expiring. Applying for PR doesn't give you Implied Status.Hlo guys i need help , I was on visitor visa before I applied on my PR in 20 August AOR , my visitor visa was expired on last November, I didn’t renew it bcz i thought now i am on implied status of PR , i called ircc on 9 April agent was verry helpful he said all stages passed wait for final decision, i called them today , the lady was verry rude today she said all said passed but u are illegal in canada , how can I illegal i am implied status , i am worried now my all stages passed on 26 march , can please anyone help me what can i do now
Thanks for reply , but now my all stages has been passed , she also said wait for final decision, may b she got frustrated from me bcz i called on 9 april and again on 13 April, bcz last agent did not say anything like that to meOne needs to apply for a Visa Extension or a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) if one's visa is expiring. Most likely, your AOR letter would mention directions for BOWP.

Although I'd say speak to another agent. Tell them your situation that it was an honest mistake. (Though if you can call IRCC for your PR application -- they might ask you why you did not call them if you had any doubts about Implied Status. So prepare an answer if that comes up) Also, offer them to pay any penalties if applicable.
Hope this helps. If it does not, going to an immigration lawyer would be your best bet. All the best!
Maybe stop calling IRCC at this point and just be patient and wait for the FINDEC. If that call centre agent makes a note that you’ve been here illegally, and an officer does a final FOSS/ GCMS check prior to issuing your COPR (and sees said note) they could revoke your Eligibility. It is always at their discretion. Thanks for reply , but now my all stages has been passed , she also said wait for final decision, may b she got frustrated from me bcz i called on 9 april and again on 13 April, bcz last agent did not say anything like that to me
Thank you so much , i will never call them againMaybe stop calling IRCC at this point and just be patient and wait for the FINDEC. Stop shooting yourself in the foot and await your COPR, and pray there isn’t any more scrutiny into your file.
What if she already did that to me ? They can can cancel my PR??Maybe stop calling IRCC at this point and just be patient and wait for the FINDEC. No way to know. I strongly suggest you consult an Immigration lawyer to help you prepare for a worst case scenario. Just in case. What if she already did that to me ? They can can cancel my PR??
Yes me aor 12 sepAOR 14th Aug 2020. Called this morning.. Agent said all stages passed on Mar 26... CPC Edmonton and VO Etobicoke... CIC online profile says all stages are in process except medical is passed last year... any one knows how long usually it take to get the copr in similar situations
I talked to my consultant he said you are on implied status not illegal here , she got frustrated from you bcz you are calling them again and again , dont call them again , but now you said she can put notes on my profile am verry much worried now if she did that alreadyNo way to know. Best case? You get your COPR soon and never have to worry about your period out of status. All the best.
You were on a Visitor visa. Applying for PR doesn't automatically grant you Implied Status once your current status expires. This was explained a few posts ago - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/august-2020-cec-applicants-timeline.702735/page-190#post-9333722I talked to my consultant he said you are on implied status not illegal here , she got frustrated from you bcz you are calling them again and again , dont call them again , but now you said she can put notes on my profile am verry much worried now if she did that already
So now I have already ruined my future by my own , after getting that news all stages passed i have heared a worst newsYou were on a Visitor visa. IF you were on a work permit, applied for PR, and then applied for an extension of your WP, or applied for a BOWP, then during that period you would have been on Implied status, while waiting for a decision on those applications.
I'm not an immigration professional, no one here can accurately tell you what the outcome is going to be. Just possible scenarios - one of which could be, you get your COPR soon without any issues. So now I have already ruined my future by my own , after getting that news all stages passed i have heared a worst news
Thank you so much , hope everything will b ok ,I'm not an immigration professional, no one here can accurately tell you what the outcome is going to be. Just possible scenarios - one of which could be, you get your COPR soon without any issues.
Hence why we are telling you to consult an Immigration lawyer to at least be prepared for the worst case scenario. Take a breath and plan your next actions carefully. All the best.
