I think now the distribution of timeframes of approval is more diverse than before, which means people's approval times vary significantly and the differences between cases are now huge, so it is currently normal for an application to be approved anytime, 3 months, 6months, 8 months, 10 months...all those time windows are now common.

Just to add I did my biometrics after 2 weeks of application submission.

Hi everyone! Just got a mail from IRCC asking me and my wife to redo our medicals.
We had used the medicals from our previous application which had been rejected at the R10 completeness stage because of a typo in our PCC. Is it something to worry about? Or should we consider it a good sign that at least the application is moving forward?

PS- The previous medicals expire in the last week of March.

I got a rejection letter over proof of funds! I submitted proof for cash in bank accounts, cash in a money market account, and stocks. They only counted the cash in my bank account and rejected my application for insufficient proof of funds. All my funds together i submitted about 17, 000CAD.

I sent them a webform stating that I plan to submit updated proof of funds within 7-14 business days. I am shocked that they decided to reject the application rather than state that they had an issue with that I submitted. The refusal letter was also super strong, stating that my RPR fee would be refunded and that the decision was final. It said that If i wished to reapply I would have to start all over again...does that seem right?

Does anyone think I will have a chance for them to continue the current application once I submit my new bank records after moving the money as well as providing an appeal letter?

My AOR was August 8. My application took 6 months and 10 days.
I received ghost update yesterday and received ppr today.
I Would also like to tell you guys that called cic yesterday and was told that my criminality is passed, eligibility is recommend passed where as security not started.

You guys were always a great support in this journey. I thank you all for all your support. Please do not loose hope. I wish that you all get your ppr soon and remember you all will get it.

I ask this because I have known someone from a WhatsApp group who had a non-accompanying spouse. In the case of a non-accompanying spouse, you are still supposed to show funds for 2 people but due to lack of knowledge, he showed proof of funds only for himself.

Luckily, thinking of currency fluctuations he decided to keep some extra amount in his bank account this total amount fell short by only 200-300 CAD than the amount required for 2 people.

His application was approved and he did not have any problems. This however, may be because he was the only person who was travelling and his spouse was not coming to Canada. So may be they cut him slack. Hope this helps.

It is just me. And I had all the statements and letters from financial institutions.

Sorry to hear this news..

You could appeal to reverse this decision/ask for the application to be reopened. I've seen similar cases and their appeal was successful, despite the letter saying the decision was final.

Just to make sure the amount of funds available in your daily bank account has to be more than the required amount. Your mutual funds and shares don't count according to their criteria as these types of funds are not readily available for you to use when you need them.

Okay, thanks! It's ways nice to get your feedback baltzly. I let them know I have sold stock and I'm am waiting for settlement, then bank transfer, then bank letter.

I should be able to show 15,000 CAD in a separate checking account within 7 business days. In addition I will still have another 3,000CAD in my savings to be used for flight tickets and such. Once I have the documents, I'll send another webform with this info. One thing that concerns me is that the letter claimed they requested an updated proof of funds, however I never received an ADR or any requests from them. And I specifically asked them if the investment accounts were fine...they never raised an issue.

Yeah. 15000CAD is already more than the required amount. I am also a single applicant and I remember that the amount required should be less than 13000CAD. You can also include a screenshot of your account page to demonstrate that you didn't received the ADR that they said they sent you. Also, I don't quite understand why in some cases they send out a procedural fairness letter to give the applicant a chance to respond, but in some other's cases such as yours, they reject the application straight away.

Yes, it is definitely weird and honestly unfair. Even the law the agent cited as grounds for denial did not specify that the funds have to be in a bank account. And if he had an issue he/she should have notified me, rather than deny my application after 6 months+ of waiting.

That being said, I'm a bit grateful that this issue presented itself still close to the 6 months mark, my friend received an ADR after 9 months. I hope they overturn the denial because I don't think can go through reapplying again.

Could you please clarify: Did your initial proof of fund document already show you had more than 13000CAD that was "liquid" instead of being in the forms of shares or mutual funds? So basically what I want to understand is do you think your initial proof of fund was already to their standard and they refused the application because they misunderstood the document?

The reason I ask about this is because all the successfully reversed/saved cases that I know were actually cases where there was a technical error in documents (for example a translation mistake) or the officer failed to correctly understand the submitted documents, so in those cases the applicants only needed to either clarify further or fix the minor errors in their documents in order to appeal. If you need to submit fresh new documents to prove your fund, I don't really know if they will reconsider the case...

I believed that my documents were consistent with their requirements per the website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...nada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

The website never indicated that the amounts had to be in a bank account, it just said the monies have to be liquid assets. And I honestly counted my investments stocks as liquid assets, since I can sell and have them in my bank in 3 business days.

When I saw they commented on my proof of funds via GCMS notes, I sent them a webform to ask if the stocks were fine, they gave an unhelpful response and I figured that if there was an issue someone will let me know.
