it varies depending on the Local visa office. some people get it in less then 2 weeks while others wait close to 30 days

That is a bit worrisome...this is the reply I get every time I check...: "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:"
Obviously I am making a mistake somehow somewhere
This is not always the case, I got a request for updated medical on 10th Jan,submitted on Feb 7th and till date no update.Mind you my Aor is 21st August 2018.
why would cic send re-medical request when file is near approval and medical is valid for another 2-3 months?
Because COPR is usually issued to the end of the medicals. So, if the medicals are close to expire (2-3 months earlier), they either send for remed or automatically extend it for one more year.
In your case, they might not be sure whether they would be able to complete your application in a years time so they might have requested another one.
i have been having trouble logging in since past couple of days. always when i enter my name and password it diverts me to CIC main page.
I used Internet Explorer and it worked.

This was the last update i got on 8th feburary when i called them after i reached my deadline. They told me to contact them back in June if nothing changes on my profile. I dont know my visa office as i never ordered my notes.

Guys, look like web form or calling is useless. Gcms usually takes 30 days to get it. I assume that all application over 6 months have review required or ADR or security screening. When I got gcms I found out that they didn’t touch my application as of November.
