The officer may suspect legitimacy of such a company and tend to seek more convincing resources which will lead to delay in case processing or even refusal.
We have observed cases where case officers have used google street view to verify the company’s location. A business concern operating from a residence or private working space does not mean that it is illegal but will definitely require additional verifications, due diligence etc on part of IRCC before they clear the records.
In my opinion, its best to order GCMS notes on the 91st day from Aor ( thats exactly after 3 months) or 121st day ( thats after 4 months) from AOR which is even better.
I had the same wordings but puzzilingly enough, the request was only for the principal applicant not for the dependent.
We need to focus on what can be done at this crucial phase due to the nick of time which you have. Did you attempt to make payment of the RPRF online anytime recently? What does the system show?
If it enbles to make payment for you both, then theres nothing to worry about, especially since this amount is refundable. If you are unable to make payment for 2 people due to system option constraints, then what I would advise is that, you go ahead and make payment for the principal applicant, then without any further hold up, raise a CSE, apply for GCSM notes , contact the CIC agent and try gaining information to know the actual reason.
Ask the agent about your (principal applicant) eligibility status, backgroundcheck, security check and then enquire next about the eligibility status, background and security check for your wife (dependent).
Depending on the feedback and with the visibility of whats happening behind the curtains, you can take your required course of action further ahead. Do keep us updated on your status.

The only way to pay is through eservices Canada, there are no constraints on how many times one can pay and for whom but we only paid for the PA as requested in the letter, once they ask for the dependent to pay, we'll pay immediately also. CSE is something that we're considering but who knows, maybe in a week or so we'll get another request for the second applicant. Normally, RPRF request implies that the case analyst has recommended pass the application and it getting sent to a CPC/LVO, with the request made to one of us, we're a little confused and wondering but only time will tell. I'll keep you posted.

I'm pretty worried about my application, I got AOR on 2nd of August, medicals passed on 23rd August but no updates since then. Couple of my friends that applied in July already got PPR in less than 2 months. I applied for FSW inland, is there anyone else that applied in first week of August and haven't gotten PPR yet?
