When I called on Friday it stated, no fingerprints or interview needed and background check not yet started.
Hi everyone. My file was transferred to NDVo on 7th November. Today a line has been added in my ECAS status that we started processing your application on 15th November. So is it AOR 2 ?? I am not sure coz everyone here said that they receive AOR 2 through email. If not, then what does it mean ?
Yes, that is AOR2.
Sometimes people get an email about file transfer to VO which is mistaken for AOR2

Yes, they send me(Sponsor) email mentioning that application is forwarded to the Visa office (New Delhi) in my case. I am Quebec resident, so I have to apply for the Quebec undertaking application for spouse which is another delay in this processing.
Check your spam mail as well, sometimes spam server act odd and send legit emails to spam folder.

Question probably for the future. I provided Police Clearance for my wife upfront. When I get AOR 2 asking for Police Clearance, should I ask her to get another report or just ignore the generic message CIC sends in AOR2?

but that's not true that Quebec thing delays the process, it goes in parallel with the main process. By the time visa office will open your documents, you will already receive your CSQ.
I agree. I have also applied for my CSQ. But do we receive the CSQ by email or post ?

You will receive everything relating to the CSQ by post: first you will get a letter confirming that they are processing your CSQ, and then about 3 weeks later you will receive the CSQ itself
