Congratulations!!! Can you advise what country your wife is from? I have sponsored my Husband, and we are currently waiting for his Medical. I also applied August.
I had uploaded all my Schedule A and Police Check in October, we are just waiting for his Medical Results now. Our file is currently in London. How long does it take after a VISA is issued to come to Canada from then?

Well, just as I thought my application was progressing along well..snag.

I have been asked to provide a police clearance certificate for the time I spent working in Afghanistan (Foreign contractor working on US Government funded programs). The embassy has been of no help and don't respond and I am trying other local channels to get it done, but the bureaucracy of trying to get anything like this can be very problematic in a country that only cares about bribes. Any advice on what I can do to open dialogue with the Canadian Immigration processing my application?

Thank you so much, my wife is from Kenya and visa processing our application is Nairobi. You have a grace period up to 12 months from the day of your medical for the VISA to expiry, after receiving the VISA, you can book your flight the next day and land in Canada but getting a flight the next day will be tough since the traveler requires time to prepare. I wish you quick processing time for you and your husband.

Congrats! Our VO is Mississauga, too. (U.S. passport). Do they request the actual passport, or a photocopy? I'm curious because my husband needs his passport for an upcoming trip and we're hoping it's not around the same time that the VO requests it.
